This guy started out as a doodle in my moleskine and went from there!. Entire scene is sculpted from Kato polyclay, with hand-harved resin icicles and a resin ice pool. The horn is hand-made from solid sterling silver.

damn.. thats what another artist used as well.. do you know another way to get that look without using resin? Its not that i dont want to go that route i eventually want to learn how to work with resin its that i dont want to spend the $40 for a huge containor just for small iciles. I really want to improve my scuplting ability first.. Thank you for the help!

You don't need to spend $40. You can get the smaller ones they sell in hobby shops for putting photos and leaves and stuff in. Stuff is like $10. I don't know of anything else you could use. Maybe glass and a dremel to sand/carve it with?

That's a big fancy word for just mangling metal into a shape. I did make the horn.

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love how he's 'in' the scene, not just sat on top of it.

The sculpture is stunning, Indi. I'd love to see the doodle, too - or a painting of said doodle, because I know it'd be fan-flippin-tastic. I love the delicacy of the legs, and the overall balance of the figure. He's really 'in' the scene, you know? Between the way he's balanced over the pool and the snow rucked up around his hooves. He's not just a lovely figure on a base, which is spectacular and shows just how skilled you are as a sculptor.

/end raging superlative abuse

Happy holidays to you!
