Description Done in PS, this image took me quite a while.
It's an ilustration to an article about a girl who commited suicide... It's more or less simbolic... The background represents the life she finds so unwelcoming. She is faling apart, as shows the cracked skin... But she finds comfort in the end. I wanted to show death as something positive and peaceful. Thus the soft glow on her face.
I used a self photograph for reference, because I'm not yet good enough to draw convincing emotion from scratch. Otherwise it's done completely with a graphic tablet.
I know it could be a whole lot better but, hey, I'm only a beginner still
So, I hope you like it,
C&C-s are most appreciated

Well, I do agree that suicide is not the answer.
But in here case it was. I tried to make a portrait showing "her" perspective; "her" solution. And in this way, it seams completely reasonable. I guess this is the power of empathy...
But it is true. I didn't like putting myself into this sad mood for such a long time. I am a happy person and prefer drawing happy things.
Though sometimes an interesting idea would grab me and I will have to draw it, no matter how sad it were =/

Even though I do not agree with the message of suicide being a solution for finding peace - and I would be a lousy psychologist if I did - this image compells me to empathy. ItΒ΄s brilliantly reflecting the very upset, painridden emotion of a depresed, disencouraged, sad person. Having used a self image as basis for this work I hope the emotions were not something you had to deal with for a too long period.

another DAMN!

Looks even beter than the other i just faved

Very good symbolism and lighting, I really like this one because it really expresses something eerie but beautiful, the expression on the face is one of pain and love at the same time, almost undescribable.

but the crack in the neck on the right side is a bit odd in comparison to the shape of the face/body, It looks like its a bit off in 3D perspective in comparison to the body to be a mind-convincing crack. The piece (the lower part) it produces looks like it's about to fall from the skin and is already halfway but the lighting says it's still attached.

But again:
DAMN, That's good!!
