Description Blank Variant: [link]

The Stunticons with Transformers: Prime aesthetics. This version includes the image of Oil Slick in the background.

I chose pre-existing body types for the team because I wanted to mimic what a customizer or Hasbro would do if they were to use molds of preexisting characters to retool them into the Stunticons.

The idea here is that before he joined the Decepticons, Breakdown was part of a group of rebellious anarchists, called the Stunticons. The team, except for Motormaster, was eventually caught by Cybertronian law enforcement. In time, the Stunticons were released from their prisons by Megatron as he and Optimus began the civil war that would render their planet uninhaitable. The team was disbanded and each member went their separate ways until they were reunited by an odd, misanthropic scientist, named Oil Slick.

Oil Slick used his own resources and research notes to form a Decpticon super soldier who would rival Optimus Prime in strength, courage, and skill. The final creation named itself Motormaster and asserted its leadership over the Stunticons, a group separate of the Decepticons. After Motormaster was created, Oil Slick disappeared back into the shadows. Megatron despises the Stunticons, though he admires the group’s tenacity.
______________________________

• Although Motormaster is similar to Optimus Prime in many ways, he lacks the wisdom of the Matrix of Leadership that Optimus possesses. He is violent, merciless, and arrogant, traits that Oil Slick finds unsavory. All of the other Stunticons, except Breakdown, obey Motormaster out of fear for their lives rather than respect.

Motormaster's full bio and detailed portrait: [link]

• Reluctant to reunite with his teammates, Breakdown was secretly ordered by Megatron to rejoin the Stunticons and act as a double agent. Breakdown loathes the artificially-created Motormaster and believes that he should lead the team. Knockout is unaware of Breakdown’s true intentions and wonders where the Stunticon’s true loyalties lie.

• Wildrider is psychotic, reckless, and extremely trigger-happy. The maniac loves to drive through the streets at breakneck speeds with no regard for whatever, or whoever, is in his way. Wildrider is highly competitive with Drag Strip.

Wildrider's full bio and detailed portrait: [link]

• The gloomy Dead End adopted his nihilistic views when he discovered that he was nothing more than a highly specialized drone. He feels that nothing in the universe, not even his own life, has meaning and although he’s a mopey and sullen kill-joy, the other Stunticons tolerate him because of his complacency and skills in combat.

Dead End's full bio and detailed portrait: [link]

• Drag Strip is a proud and highly competitive individual that has a small rivalry going with Wildrider. She trusts no one and believes that she is the only competent member amongst the Stunticons. Drag Strip is a vicious warrior and would rather die than let herself be defeated at the hands of an Autobot.

*sigh* I hope that the Stunticons make a comeback somewhere in upcoming Transformers media. They were a blast to watch and have one of the most interesting team dynamics that I've seen among Decepticon sub-groups. Maybe in this sequel to Prime, called Robots in Disguise. I know that Breakdown is suffering from a bad case of dead right now, but...I don't think Breakdown is absolutely required to make the Stunticons. ^_^

Would be pretty badass to see them in Prime's cartoon! Especially Drag Strip, we need more Femme Fatal's in the Decepticon ranks!

Agreed!

They could probably fit Dead End into the show if they wanted too. Since they used the Wheeljack figure as his base, it probably wouldn't cost that much to develop and render an animation model for him.

Hmm, get that Dark Energon back for Dead End!

Though I never understood why Breakdown was a paranoid, like the other Breakdowns were. (Brakedown, however, doesn't count. )

Heh. Seems like Wildrider's a retool of Wheeljack too. They're getting a lot of mileage out of that mold.

Really? Heh, Wheeljack must be popular!

soy-monk In reply to Soundwave04 [2012-10-20 21:22:50 +0000 UTC]

I guess so haha. I think the mold's been reused the most so far out of all the Deluxes for the line.

Regular RiD Wheeljack, Dead End, BBTS exclusive Dark Energon Wheeljack, Beast Hunters Wheeljack, Takara-only Wildrider.

Dude! I knew that Breakdown had a family! XD He probably doesn't talk about them much though.... Family issues. Are you going to do full body designs?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

soy-monk In reply to dou-hong [2011-11-02 15:57:43 +0000 UTC]

I'd like to, but that's so time consuming and it'd drive me insane trying to do the full body designs. I guess I could try taking a stab at Dead End first.

It also doesn't help that I hit a brick wall yesterday. Banged out a human version of my design for Dead End and started on Wildrider.

Got most of the sketch done, one leg was looking weird and I kept trying to fix it, but I inked the rest of it. Decided to clean the line art a bit and color the skin and BAM! One marker just spontaneously bleeds out when I'm adding the tiny bits of shadows to his face. -__-

If you'd like, you could take a stab at it. You did some great stuff from what I saw over at TFW.

These fellas are just retools/repaints of existing character models, so they're not all that different XD

dou-hong In reply to soy-monk [2011-11-02 16:06:03 +0000 UTC]

XD well, I'm planning on the protectobots first, probably then the Aerialbots. But maybe the Stunticons could fit in there somehow. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

soy-monk In reply to dou-hong [2011-11-02 16:08:56 +0000 UTC]

Oh, cool. I was contemplating doing the Protectobots. I always saw them more as the Stunticons' rivals than the Aerialbots. I now it's supposed to be how the Autobots need fliers on their team while Megatron wanted a team that could rule the road, but protection vs chaos seems to make more sense.

Plus...
Menasor vs Defensor! XD

soy-monk In reply to SkylerFarrier [2011-10-27 01:39:06 +0000 UTC]

Wildrider would be the retool of Cliffjumper. I kept their G1 color schemes, for the most part, in case they weren't recognizable.

soy-monk In reply to SkylerFarrier [2011-10-27 01:57:23 +0000 UTC]

Yup. The reason for why I chose that specific mold for Dead End is explained in his mini bio.
