Ya the original concept was a female character. I personally do also really like that version of the character, but that doesn't mean every version and design has to be female. Multiple people have taken the name venom, male and female, so the character venom is not exclusively male or female. However the most popular versions of the character are male so as a byproduct we will see more male designs, that doesn't mean it is a "FAKE VENOM".
