Well some people make nightfury characters that also lost a fin, wing, etc in a really similar way, so I was saying that if you make a character like that, then to have them lose it in a different way.

Another way to make it more original is give the character an auto-fin, like what Hiccup gave Toothless in the short Christmas special gift of the night fury.
