I had the greatest moment when walking Sherlock with my mother. They were in the intense end bit of the Final Game, where Jim and Sherlock are getting closer and closer and ever so fucking closer as they argue, and right at the peak of tension, my mom goes "for god's sake, this is getting WAY TOO Doctor/Master-y! Their faces are almost touching!" And I basically died laughing, COMPLETELY ruining the moment. XD

These two would be amazing, and hilarious as a team, but I'm not so sure that they'd get along. Or (besides bitchy romances) that they do have that much in common. I mean I've seen so many posts lately from people going "Oh, there SO ALIKE!" but for some reason, in real (non-sleepover, though this WOULD be fantastic) canon I just don't see it.
I mean first of all, Moriarty would HATE the Master. He'd be infuriated by the fact that the Master was exponentially smarter than him, AND that he won't die. And the Master just simply hates all humans, so any collaboration or friendship would be unlikely. The only use he has for humans is as pawns, but Moriarty is too smart for that, and I think that would make the Master a bit put-off.
And as for similarities, I see it this way. Moriarty is a villain whose main objective is distraction and amusement, and as it happens, Sherlock fits the need. And not only that, he is his intellectual equal, so it gives him a further challenge. But the main objective, no matter what, is to see Sherlock dead. I mean feelings aside, he might want to shag him out of attraction resulting from a bizarre sense of sexually-tinged competition, but he wants to kill him above all.
And then we have the Master, who's objective is completely different (though it changes every so often). The Master has an unspoken unsettled feud with the doctor, that must have resulted from something in their younger years (I doubt they'll EVER explain). But it can't be denied that the doctor is a main source of all of his evil doings; why else would he show up wherever the Doctor goes, specifically target humans, and focus on anything that could possibly (emotionally) hurt him the most. All shipping bias aside, that's undeniable. As for their competition, as with Moriarty and Sherlock, the Master DOES enjoy the fact that they are perfectly matched. And even if they didn't have a feud, I think they would still enjoy their bantering. But (and this is the MAIN difference) the Master does NOT want him dead. I don't care how many times he says he does, if he really wanted him dead the Doctor would be dead by now. I mean really, with all of the opportunities he's had, the Master could have killed him THOUSANDS of times over. And (this mostly applies to the Younger Masters) I think if he really wanted it, his schemes would actually work too...if he didn't keep getting distracted by the Doctor XD (sorry, just re-watched Sea Devils). I mean basically, the Master's objectives were like this:
Delgado: Please rule the universe by my side!
3: No, absolute power is evil!
Ainley:...please????
4: No.
Ainley: I'l capture your companions if you don't!
5: But...no!
Ainley: I swear, I'll kill them! And I'll even help you not be killed by the Timelords!
6: Hmm...nope.
Ainley: I WILL HURT YOU UNLESS YOU OBEY ME!
7: Noooo....but I will try to help you! (Why are you a Cheetah?)
Roberts: *Hiss hiss* "YOU ARE MY LIFE!" IMMA KILL YOUR COMPANIONS, TAKE YOUR BODY, AND KILL MYSELF!!! (lol, Roberts HAD no objective...)

Well, I was more joking about this than anything else, for the crack and humorous cross-over like the sleepover, it would be hilarious of course, but for "serious situations", I agree with you, well more on the Master because I don't have seen how acts Moriarty yet: but it's true the Master, when it comes seriously (sorry English butcher was here X_@), the Master despises clearly humans, and even if Moriarty would represent sort of challenge for him, it's not what he searches: like you said, he has his rival in the Doctor, and if he likes to rule and manipulate and enjoy evil and all, he mostly does it with in purpose to defeat or torture/make suffer the Doctor; after this, there is of course all the alchemy of foe-yay-since-ages which can be seen sooo clearly...
It's fun, yes, to imagine Moriarty and the Master be all BFF for evil plans, mostly (I think) because they are two great "BBC villains", completely opposite to two great "BBC good guys"; both are the antithesis of their foe, both like (if I'm not wrong) play mind plays with their foe, and both are crazy like hell XD so it's a good team in crack ^^
But yes, I must admit (especially with your precisions on Moriarty ) there are not so much similarities between the two XD
And I love your summary of Doctor/Master relationship, it's exactly that XD
Oh, sea Devils, I just finished to watch it (and just after the episode in season 5 with the Silurians, what a chance XD) and all the scenes between the Master and the Doctor, it was so funny XD :
Sea Devils: Can we trust the Doctor and make peace like he said?
Master: NO!! HE'S YOUR ENEMY, DON'T TRUST HIM!!! (master of subtlety, ouais XD)
Seadevils: Right, then kill him!

That's what I get from the episode, I'm still learning English and there were no subtitled versions of this episode 
And yes, aaaall the times he had the occasion to kill him...and yesss, of course all these moves and looks and not-so-subtle innuendos you tell each other, they're only because you are such greaaaat foes and all...
I have to watch the old series, but I think, although there are great differences between Deldago/Ainley/Roberts and Simm, they always love to impress the Doctor...*cough*courtshipdisplay*cough* but Simm is more crazy and still fragile, broken in a way, like is the Doctor after the Time War but now he can't escape...aaah, I don't know how to say it, the Master is always the opposite of the Doctor, but still in phase with him, you see?

Really, what is your first language? You speak it pretty well for someone who's learning. Besides, you don't want to watch that with subtitles, they aren't half as fun, or accurate.

Either they are completely shoddy enemies, messed up as HELL friends, or lovers of some sort. And the show's too good for it to have messed up badly enough for it to be either of the first two.
I think that the crazy actually started with Roberts lol. I actually think he was MORE insane then Simm (I blame it on his butchered DNA and the fact that it was taken over by the USA).
Simm's just to jaded XD. He is honestly the first Master to want to see the Doctor suffer as opposed to just make him come with him and love him...which is ironic considering 10 was the first doctor to completely want to go with him XD.

I'd say it as they are two sides of the same coin. They are so very VERY much alike and in sync with each other, yet different enough to keep things interesting. which is why they are so damn perfect for each other, they both NEED a challenge!

(omg I watched season 1 of Sherlock yesterday, and DAMMIT THAT'S WONDERFUL!!! I love it!!! Sherlock it crazy like I excepted, John is cute and all, but badass, Mycroft is...XD the relationship between him and Sherlock is what I would have with my younger siblings if I had all the Government stuff at disposition XD I love them, but sometimes I...slightly overreact when I'm worried about them XD
And seriously...Well, now, I don't think I would like Sherlock/moriarty like I love Master/Doctor...not the same alchemy...but Sherlock/John is SO FREAKING CANON XD!!!! I love all the little details-not-always-subtle, like Mycroft who is secretly "yessss, he finally got a boyfriend" when he learns about John, or everybody who assumes they're a couple "I'm not his date >.<*!!!" yessss, John, sure you're not U_U)

Yes, it's true sometimes the subtitles are somehow inaccurate, so I prefer watch it with English subtitles XD but there are some dubbed series which are really good, so are Doctor Who and Sherlock in French XD (and seriously, I'm jealous of the British shows, compared to ours which are often crap...well, damn Brits with their Britishness XP)

What I love about the Master is, contrary at many foes of the Doctor, he's one of the only he can identify himself, because he's the closest of him (being a Time Lord and all...); and after I watched "Water of Mars", it makes more sense, the boundary between the Doctor and the Master is thin, very thin, and it would be sooo easy to cross it...but there again, with the Master, the Doctor can remember why he does all his actions, why he choose his path and all...
There are few foes of Whoniverse who can do this effect.

Pfff, I seriously think the Doctor is a masochist: in the old series, he repressed his desire for the Master because, well, he's evil and all, but also because he doesn't want this to be too easy for his rival...and in the all, he feel guilty for the Time War and all, and he needs to be "punished" and the other Time Lord is the only to do this XD

The end of EoT was definitely a deciding moment. I'll be interested to see how they interact now that the Master saved his life and lost the drums.

The Younger Doctors could have saved him from himself at any time, but I honestly think they were too proud and scared. By the time 10 rolled around, he had lost all of that pride, and more.

Well, I see your point; it's true I wouldn't ship Sherlock and John like many others pairings, in a way, they're not into all the "romantic love with pretty words and lalala", like many young authors love to write about them; I mean, first, they are not a "normal" duo: Sherlock is a sociopath, doesn't understand the concept of love like would "normal people" do; John is traumatized by war, I think even if he tries to go ahead, he is still marked by his experience and doesn't believe in the domestic love with marriage, family, cute and all; he miss the danger, the thrill, but very few people can understand it, apart from Sherlock of course XD;
Of course they "love" each other, they have a strong bromance XD, John is the first person Sherlock is worried about when Moriarty threatens him; John doesn't hesitate to leave his girlfriends and run after Sherlock if there is a problem, because Sherlock is the one who matters really for him. I seriously think John is straight, but love Sherlock, if you see what I mean ^^. (and you can't deny Sherlock is jealous, look in the Blind Banker XD)
But they act more like a old married couple who doesn't need the soppy declarations or days of hard sex to prove they love each other; I can imagine them cuddling, having quiet evening when they just are here, next to each other (when it's not during a case of course XD); I can imagine them snap and shag to release the tension after a situation like in the end of The Great Game.
But...well, when I see the fics where they act like teenagers girls (John, or worse Sherlock blushing, hesitating, trying to "seduce" the other) to finally confess their eternal love and all...or when blah. No. Sorry, but that doesn't fit them.

Yes, frightening indeed; but well, the Doctor needed to go by that, because he needed to learn his limits...and with the Master, he realised he could have gone mad like him.
And well, the Doctor with the drums or something like that...would really, really have been like the Master *shivers* and there are moments where he crosses the line and I love these moments as much as I fear them, because you realize what could have happen if the Doctor didn't love the life of all beings in universe.

Yes, but the Master sees everything as a game, to "distract" himself of the drums; and I think he had too pride to become just "the Doctor's companion", like the humans he loathed; however, I think the moment when the Doctor proposes him to come with him is just...the Master's eyes at this moment, I nearly cried TT BUT I HATE LUCY GRRR Γ¨_Γ©!!!!!! I WAS GLAD WHEN SHE DIED IN EOT SHE DESERVED IT!!!!
EoT was a great masterpiece, one of the best episodes I've ever seen :3 but I just cried at moments, like...you know, the "I couldn't live without you" moment, or when he's with Wilfred and can't decide, between accept to kill the Master or condemn the entire Earth, not just because of his affection (I'm sure) to the Master, but because he doesn't want to kill anymore...or the passage when Rassilon is about to kill the Master, and the Doctor suddenly is all "Don't you DARE to touch him after all you've done >
I haven't see the 6th season yet, and I'm waiting for my judgement to see it; however, I think it could be great to bring back the Master, but Moffat needs to be careful; after all, he needs a GOOD actor, he needs a good reason to bring him back, he has to master the whole "no drums anymore" thing, etc...
But I don't think Moffat would screw him up :S just my opinion.
