Description
So, back when The Beano issue 4172 was released, there was a Minnie the Minx story where Minnie and Francis discover a legend thing called the "Minxcalibur" and a young girl, who looked (and behaved) very similar to Minnie now had managed to pull it out from the stone and became queen! Unfortunately, her reign didn't last very long whens he got replaced by a king, who looked very much like Darren (modern Minnie's dad). The king returned the fancy catapult to the stone and that was that. According to the story, that was just a 'legend', but my little creative mind that I had been carrying for almost my whole 16 years of life was like "This is very meh, let's make some lore and stuff about it!' and so I whipped out something like this.

I decided that the young girl managed to keep her reign for a very long time (think of Elizabeth II's long reign, that long but a bit longer) and died peacefully of old age. I also made some designs of her during her long reign years and her queen costume. I also gave her a sort of name, which was Queen Minselle and made her as the first queen of BeanoTown. Looking back at it, it needed a little adjusting... so i've changed her name to Queen Minervra but still kept the Minselle name and Hermione for Minnie's real name.

I decided to make her portrait a bit realistic than cartoony (like usual) because when you look at the old paintings of people with a royal status, they're all painted in some sort of a realistic way (think of paintings like the Mona Lisa, but with monarchs like Elizabeth the First) so I put myself to the test. I had to use a fairy book as a reference because, well, it has realism like drawings to be frank... I also made Minerva hold the Minxcalibur to symbolize that she's the only to ever have it on their hands, outside of the stone (because the king put it back in the original story, remember?).

I used my usual medium, which is pencils (and colouring pencils). I tried so hard to acheive the realism look to be honest, but the shading's a little ugly... Anyway, my back ached (mostly from bad psture, but I have no other way to fix it) after a while drawing this- but when I went to see it again in the morning, it looked...dull, so I used markers to make the drawing bright and even revamped the background a little bit. It was so bright that the colours even looked bright when I scanned it with it's usual MagicColour filter, so I had to use a different one xD

Anyways, thats it, I guess- I added two more images. One is the drawing you see when you get to the drawing challenge of which you draw a crown for her. Basically, I tried to make out that she was posing like her ancestor (Queen Minerva) in my au so I tried to make Minerva's face pull out like that. The other picture is the picture of the same young girl I mentioned in the beginning, remember? I also made that out as Minerva when she was a young girl before she found the Minxcalibur. I felt like I wrote too much so i'm going to stop here. I'm sorry if I made you read so much xd
