Description
My contribution to Spirit Day .While I know this is originally for teens dealing with bullying and abuse due to their sexual preference, I think it is able to cover all teens who deal with any kind of bullying.
While this specific type of bullying has received a lot of media attention as of late, we'd like to bring to light how bullying is a wide-spread problem that impacts everyone -- regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, ethnicity, race, or profession. And the recent surge of teen suicides associated with bullying can't be ignored or overlooked.
I was lucky and avoided being bullied as a teenager, but several of my friends weren't quite so lucky. Several were picked on because of their "size". I always thought this was pointless, and just downright rude. But kids can be cruel, sadly. Here's to stopping all the meanness, and the hurt that follows it.

Although I completely understand andaee wwith your point, why are all these colors suddenly standing for sexual preferences?? Doesn't make sense

I'm not lesbian, but the LGBT people I have met are the kindest people ever. I wish this wouldn't happen.

Very nice stamp. I love the design with the patterned background and stitching.
I was bullied terrible and my kids were too. School officials kept pointing to their "official" bullying policy, but never enforced it. Led to us pulling them out of the school they were in. It's really sad that others feel the need to feel superior by bullying others.

That is terrible. You would think school officials would do something about what is obviously a problem. It makes me dread my children growing up.

When I was a kid, I was bullied for being half Chinese. It made me hate being Chinese, mad at my parents. Then I moved away and met new people who accepted me for who I was. I started to love being me. I shaved my hair into a mohawk and dressed how I wanted and had a lot of fun, I found this to be an excellent friend filter. If people judged me by my exterior, then I didn't want to be their friend in the first place. I revelled in my difference and in being me, finally happy with who I was.
I wish those kids could have found that place. The abillity to love themselves. Kids can be horribly cruel, and an extreme reflection of their parents and adult influences. They do not realize the weight of their words. Cyberbullying as well. On the internet it's worse, it's not grade school recess, it's harassing utter strangers. Parents need to teach tolerance. Schools need to recognize that bullying is not just an initiation process into the harsh realities of life.

Well, I don't get bullied, and I'm the one who looks weak and a bit fubsy. I guess it helps that I'm pretty big, and I'm a LOT stronger than I look and faster than I have any right to be with my build.

That's why I go to the school I go to. There was this one kid, who said we were gay, and we were like "Well, you prolly don't really know considering you're 12, but that's cool with us." And that was it. Nothing else said.
I once told a couple of my friends that I had a crush on someone. They were like "Who, eight or seventh? Is it a guy or girl?" And that's just how open we are about it. I'm straight (as far as I know), but still, they still considered that option.
