Description
After making his through way through Red Scar Cavern in the Rift, the Dragonborn sees the Oblivion Gate then sees in Red Scar Cavern and next to it is Dunmer/Dark Elf name Vonos the leader of the Mythic Dawn. And once the Dragonborn got close enough to Vonos, he attacks the Dragonborn because he knew he was coming. After defeating him, the Oblivion Gate is open. (Which is the end of one quest and the start of another.)

Searching Vonos for clues to what happened. The Dragonborn found his journal and read it to discover that his was used to become the unwitting instrument of Mehrunes Dagon, resulting in the final opening of the gate. Vonos knew the Dragonborn will kill him, he was planning this for weeks. He let the Vigilant of Stendarr capture Priestess Enakain, he let Skorvild the Nord leave knowing that he'll contact the Dragonborn. After that he knew that the Dragonborn will try to stop the Mythic Daw and get the Great Welkynd Stone before his bring it here not knowing this will help them. (Because you can't remove the Great Welkynd Stone from your inventory until this quest is done.) Vonos did a ritual making himself the sacrifice, so his death cause the Oblivion Gate is open.

Now the Dragonborn has to enter the Oblivion Gate and kill the two Dremoras, Valkyn Methats and Valkyn Gatanas. These two were planned to lead the assault.

Note: This is ending part of a Creation Club mod quest called "The Cause", and the start of other of a Creation Club mod quest called "The Consequences".
