My first finished picture of 2008 (there are others, but probably won't be posted). It started as a stress doodle and, um, kind of finished that way. I like it though.It's a glowing rat thing...

Actually, that was what I was going for after a while.
At first, I think I wanted it to seem like there were stars embedded in his skin or something, but that idea kind of died along the way.

Nice to see you around DA again! Strangeness of the radioactive mouse aside, I'd like to note that you can take a color (regardless of how unusual it might be) and turn it into a full range of fully realized shadows and lights. That's quite a skill, to build such depth out of so little.

Very interesting! I like how it looks as though the dots are not only a part of the rat but are somewhat otherwordly (if that makes sense).

I think that was what I was going for (I never know anymore). The glowy things could be stars buried under the rat's skin, disease waiting to spring forth, or just something randomly glowing that I added to make me like the picture better. You never know.

Ahhhh to be sick on top of it all is the pits. I'm just trying to balance school and my friends, which is problematic enough without art on top of it all.

I love that face. It reminds me a bit of the rats from the Secret of Nimh (that's a positive comparison, just so you know!) and yet it's just so adorable. The eyes really capture it for me.
