Description EDIT 3-7-2012 — Enlarged the image, cleaned it up, and separated the screen as it's own sepia-toned color—like old TVs.

Original Post
This is a picture in one of the Beetlejuice storybooks I have. I decided to challenge myself, though, and did the entire picture with Sharpie markers. I see mistakes when I compare them, but standing alone, it looks okay, I guess.

And it took me a while to realize, but the band BJ is playing in here is called "Blades N Tulips" which is a parody of the real band "Guns N Roses".

Yes, there are 6 Beetlejuice storybooks published by Pocket Books back in 1992-ish. All are authored by someone using the pen name "B.J. Specter". In each book, there are several pictures scattered throughout the story, illustrating a certain scene. This image I drew is one of the pictures found in book #3 "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare".

Yes, you can't find them in bookstores anymore. You have to buy them used.

If you're a die-hard fan of BJ, I suggest finding copies somewhere (even though it took me years to do it myself). It's like reading a new episode of the cartoon that never made it to air. And I know that's always a thrill for me to see something "official" for a series that I love, and it's new and fresh.

Do you remember which book? I only have book #2 " Lydia's Scream Date." I'm currently looking for copies of the others.

Yes, this pic is from book #3 "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare". I have the first 5 books, and there were only 6 made, if I'm not mistaken.

And funny thing, "Lydia's Scream Date" was the only book I had for the longest time. It was hard and took years to scrounge up the rest of them, and I'm still missing one. So good luck to you finding them!

You can find copies on Amazon.com. That's where I'm buying mine, and there are other dealers still offering them. I just can't find a reasonably priced book 6.
