Description
In this version, Richard Rider was once an officer of NYPD. He even met Spider-Man (Peter Parker) before and he was there to arrest Sin-Eater (Stan Carter). However, he feels like that with Sin-Eater being a corrupt cop and even Yuri Watanabe leaving, gets him to think that maybe he should just leave since he is starting to lose his faith with law. He sadly tells the Commissioner that he is leaving and that he will miss him. He is given an honourable discharge. As he spent his week, just playing on his piano and drinking at a bar, when he noticed a mugging in an alley way and tries to stop it and he ends up getting knocked out by the mugger and was saved by Spider-Man. He thanks him and tells him that he is feeling lost in his faith with the law and he doesn't blame Spidey and other Heroes. Spidey tells him that he still has the spirit of wanting to help people and focus on that for now. As Richard was walking away processing what Spider-Man said, he finds himself being teleported into a space station which turns out to be, Star Command. Star Command had summoned him because, that he was chosen by Rhomann Dey, the New Nova Prime and former Nova Corpsman, to be the Earth Representative for the Nova Corp as a Nova Corpsman. He would protect Earth, but he would have him at Xandar to be trained and help out with missions.

Richard was curious on why him and how come other aliens look exactly like humans. Rhomann explains that after the Battle of Xandar, he was inspired by Star-Lord (Peter Quill) and the Guardians of the Galaxy, by recruiting a Terran (word for Human to other Aliens) from Earth. He also wanted to find someone that as a good and respectable man who holds the qualities of a honour and respect, thus he chose Richard Rider. Also that Humans or Terrans are the basic template of bi-ped beings. Richard ends up accepting the role and he decides to have his codename be, "Nova" since he likes the name. Rhomann accepts it and he kinda laughs at the thought of someone naming themselves after the Nova Corps. Richard and Rhomann fly to Xandar and Richard is given a new upgraded suit built for Terrans and a upgraded helmet just for him. The helmet has a connection to the Xandar Infomation of the universe, and the ability to breathe in space and underwater. He also has a translator built into it to understand aliens to speak english, but most aliens already speak english, because it is the most common language in the universe, but some need to be translated for certain aliens, execpt species like Groot, because, all they here is "I Am Groot". The helmet also grants the wielder the entire cosmic powers of: Flight, Energy blasts, Telekinesis and Superhuman strength.

Richard proves himself to be a good Nova Corpsman and he is sent off to protect Earth and he does do some missions on Earth. He did team up with Spider-Man and helped him with stopping Sin-Eater and Wraith (Yuri Watanabe) from killing him. He does set up a fly along instead of a Ride Along and the one kid who signed up was Sam Alexander. He shows him of what he does as a Nova Corpsman and offers to train him if he is interested. One day, he gets called up to Xandar to report and help out with stopping rogue Nova Corpsman Titus from destroying the Nova Corp and Richard summoned Sam and promoted him to Kid Nova. He also met Captain Universe (Gabriel Vargas), but he died while fighting Titus, which made Richard defeat and jail Titus.

Before Avengers: Infinte, he was at Xandar when Thanos attacked and he was able to shoot a few shot at him, he was taken out by The Black Order and Richard was in a coma. He woke up before the Final Battle against Thanos and was present when Thanos was permently turned to dust. Richard had informed that The Nova Corps was destroyed and that it no longer exists. The Guardians of the Galaxy just recently claimed Knowhere as their new base and in collaberation with Star Command and former Nova Corp members, Richard and Sam were known to the universe as Nova and Kid Nova of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Richard Rider is modelled after John Cena, he is a good action star and after his role as Peacemaker, he should make a good Nova. I don't know much about Nova, but he seems to fit the role here and i think his design is done very well compared to the other Nova Corps suits. This is what he looks like without his helmet.
