Oo. WOW I like that and the tiger's face is really well done. I have to admit I myslef liked working with thicker paints but I have to say even I thought that was water color until you explained the difference. Great Job I love it.

Yeah, well, gouaches aren't significantly different and can be used just like watercolors (I definitely use them just like watercolors because I have so much experience with them that it comes pretty naturally to me).

Really beautiful. What a gorgeous tiger!
I'm always so impressed with what I see from you. How long did this take you?

Hmmm.... depends if you count the *several* different pictures I drew and erased before actually getting this one down. Come to think of it, it took me three days just to stop erasing all of my work and settle for this. The body of the man took a really long time, but the tiger went really fast (I had a tiger photo handy). The painting took, I don't know, 3 hours? I don't keep track of time very well when I'm drawing. But I had a lot of problems coming up with the idea.

Another beautiful piece. Did I see it mentioned somewhere that you're currently working on a comic book? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else...

Well, I have an online one that I am working on (despite the lack of updates on the sight) and also, in my journal I blitzed mentioned that me and my sister entered a manga competition (with Tokyopop -- I'm not really expecting anything, but it's worth a try, ne?)

Too true. You can always try. I think your work would be pretty perfect for TokyoPop, for obvious reasons. I hope something comes of it!

Thanks! I'm glad to help about the gouache, I'm too lazy to use them often (they're in tubes, so I have to mix all my own colors which in turn means I might have to get off my bum and wash a palette), but they work nicely especially if you have experience with watercolors. Though, I'm told that they're easier to use than watercolors.
