Description Disclaimer: Both "Baccano!" and "Durarara!!" are made by the same people

Both are egotistical, crazy guys made by the same author who like to do psychically impossible jumping abilities, and fuck with people alot (Just that Claire's way WAY more brutal about it)

BTW if you're a yaoi fangirl and you worship Izaya try to be less biased as possible. I don't mind you thinking Izaya would win but you gotta give reasons other than you think he's hot and you want him to have Shizuo's baby or whatever.

Izaya can go toe to toe with shizuo Narita has stated that both him and claire are pretty much the strongest in his verse so if izaya can fight shizuo then he should also be able to fight with claire.

Its really hard to decide a winner however i do think that izaya has a slight advantage due to his crazy parkour skills and his throwing knifes that give him better range lets also not forget about izayas crazy durability the dude has survived punches from both shizuo and simon who are probably the physicaly strongest characters in durarara. However claire has a pretty big advantage in combat skill and stength so i believe the batlle chould go either way.

I could go into great detail as to why Claire would win, but all I need to do is go the creator himself.

Ryohgo said himself that Claire Stanfield is one of the most powerful beings in the universe he's made, rivaled by Shiozu, and Ronnie Sukiart; the latter of which is a (refer to bottom of comments for the spoiler); and trumped by Hawking from Vamp, and No. 37564 "mob combatant."

Aka: Claire is tier one. Izaya was ranked Tier 3. Which basically means that he'd put up a fight, but that's not really what he'd do. So... He'd lose.

Well Vino is far faster and far stronger than Izaya and he can also catch knives like it's nothing, he is on the same level as a 2000 year old demon.

Vino would win...and I'd pay to see it.

I have watched both shows and read Baccano light novels and believe that Claire would win. Not only would he be stronger, and those aerobics gives him impossible movements. He also has the mental capabilities as well. He can suspect actions before they are done. The only things that usually dulls him a bit if he's concentrated on something else. When he was killing on the train, he didn't forget his duties as a train conductor either, which could be a weakness. Izaya is fast and does some crazy stunts, but he doesn't have enough physical strength to go along with him mental strength.

I think that Claire would win, he is a trained assassin after all. He is also a lot more agile due to his years spent in the circus. Claire is ruthless, efficient - he tortured a little boy without the slightest amount of remorse.

I haven't watched Durarara!! so this is probably biased but from what I do know, Izaya is a more psychological character that prefers not to directly kill people.

So in a death battle I think Claire would win.

Let's see... Izaya has his parkour, meanwhile, Claire has his ballerina back-flips. They're both pretty agile, too, but Claire has more power between his punch. Then again, Iza-Kun would be able to sneak in quite a few little tricks while fighting...

That'd be a pretty beastly battle, I'd say.

It's a regular ganster vs an assassin...

Though personally, I feel like Izaya is more like *SPOILERLEBREAUSPOILER* than Claire, in the sense that they are both...insane mind-screwing characters.

Though this is something i found quite interesting untuned-strings.tumblr.com/pos…

Apparently Narita once said something on his Twitter about Izaya and the Big Bad of Baccano:

"Izaya is the kind of guy who’d get lulz out of telling Kida the identity of the leader of Dollars. But Baccano’s Big Bad is the type to manipulate the Yellow Scarves into destroying the Dollars and killing Mikado in the process. He’d then gleefully tell Kida something like, ‘Congratulations on annihilating the Dollars! But I’m sure you already know that their leader was Mikado, and they actually had nothing to do with the Slashers, right?’."

I still haven't watched Baccano (it's on my harddrive, I'LL GET TO IT), but from the comments Claire seems to be more "physical" and Izaya is always mental. However, we do have to keep in mind that Izaya constantly escapes from Shizuo's attacks and Shizuo is supposedly one of the most powerful people (he got shot and thought he tripped, LOL). So, if Claire is only physical strength, then we know he won't win against Izaya.

Ahhhh, I need to watch the anime now so I can truly give an opinion.

Claire is all of the above (though sadly the anime cuts out like 98% of Claire's stuff (it's still technically there, it just doesn't show Claire's perspective but once or twice in very minor spots, you're seeing the events mostly from other people's eyes), which just leaves you with his acrobatics, some odd mannerisms, and abnormally high strength, where as the novels follow his side of the story as well and allow you a in-depth glimpse of how his mind works). Inhumanly agile, monstrously strong (though not as strong as Shizuo in raw power) and despite his air-head nature, a master tactician who can analyze and exploit weaknesses on the fly.

I mean think about it...he mopped the floor with Shizuo as a 92 year old man and according the others that know him appears to be AT LEAST as good at that age as he was in his prime, if not even better (despite having been retired from his assassin job about 25 years as of 2002 (though he's still a freelance adventurer/treasure hunter)) (with all the immortals lamenting how unfair it is that a non-immortal can still be doing that crazy $%#^ at that age).

I just have one question- did you draw both of these? If so, you did a wonderful job with Izaya. I have not seen Baccano, so I wouldn't know if Claire is accurate. He looks pretty badass, though...

No, I didn't. They're both official art from both their show. You should see Baccano, it's brilliant

I think Claire would definitely win. Izaya doesn't seem to fight to kill.  He seems to fight because he likes the chase or its some part of a big experiment he's concocting.  Claire is excellent at attacking and defending (since he was never even hit in the anime and his body count is high.)  Izaya is more into psychological warfare and he would probably be too interested in Claire to ever want to kill him anyways.  Unless Izaya messed with the Flying Pussyfoot or Chane, I doubt Claire would take any interest in him at all.  So I doubt this would be a fight to the death.  Thus, when you count how many times anybody managed to injure either character at all, you have Claire never being injured and you have Izaya getting hit twice.  Not major injuries but enough for me to think that Izaya probably wouldn't even be able to catch Claire to injure him.

Hmmm while they both like to "fuck people up" Claire is more physical about it, whereas Izaya is more psychological about it, if that makes sense.

This is kind of a tricky one for me, cuz im not sure if it's a literal "fight to the death" kind of match, or a battle of wits kind of match.

If it were the former, Claire would prob win hands down.

If were the latter, Izaya would prob win hands down. Idk.
