...since KH in 2002, I have never liked Kairi......until now.
Only because she's totally awesome in this picture and I CAN COLORkindofmerrr.

If you don't mind me asking, why don't you like Kairi? And don't worry I'm no fan of hers either.
Hell, going by the Secret Ending of Birth by Sleep, it looks like Kairi is very much content being how she is, aka useless and static.

Not at all! I'm not a fan of her because of exactly the last thing you said--she's a completely static character. I'm all for a group of kid heroes, no matter the gender--but it pisses me off when the girl is all cute and awesome but ends up being one of the most lame, underdeveloped characters of the group. And with such strong personalities as Riku and Sora's--it's totally offsetting and unsettling. It didn't. Make. Sense.
That's all, really... that and there were oodles of opportunities for her to be a totally awesome and worthwhile character and it just.. irked me, for lack of a better phrase.

So that's it, you explained it well. I don't blame you. At this point Kairi is a character completely defined by being a Love Interest and no more. So that makes her rather underwhelming to put it in kinder terms.
Aqua from BBS is a step in the right direction, though that doesn't mean she's perfect either. Just cause she can fight doesn't mean that her personality is particularly gripping and interesting. But that's my two cents.
Still there's always room for improvement.

Oh, I certainly agree--there will always be room for improvement. I just hope one of the two ladies (or someone else, even) will eventually be able to step it up personality-wise and complete the trifecta. I'm also excited to play BBS for that reason, too--just to see what Aqua's like.
Hopefully she's BA. Haha.
Arrrghhh.. I wish they would just give Kairi some DEPTH and get it over with. Thankfully everything else is wonderful enough to make up for that lack of aforementioned depth. Haaaa

I think you might enjoy Aqua as she's quite accomplished without spoiling what happens in BBS. Her character though is more of a subjective matter.
That said, let's hope for the best.
