Let's face it; as humans, we've pretty much given up true originality.I'm a dime a dozen. I'm eccentric, but hell, get enough people together, and you'll see a million just like me. I may have a different combination of traits, but nothing I say or do is purely "ME ME ME AND NOBODY ELSE!".
But I'm okay with that, because I'm still me, and I don't need anything to reassure myself of that.
Besides... when you try to be different, you usually just end up being more of a conformist.

Β I agree. Everyone tries to be "special" or "unique" but it usually results in everyone doing the same "different" thing and it ends up becoming some kind of trend.

I'm bland as vanilla to most people. I don't go out much, got a regular 9-5 job, read a bit, do some art, rest, rinse repeat but I'm fine with it. It used to bother me in high school until I figured if I'm happy then that's all that matters. I don't have to be anyone else but me.

She dyes her hair crazy colors, doesn't listen to "mainstream" bands, watches anime that isn't that popular just because it isn't popular, wears crazy stuff, and though she doesn't shut up about Baccano and whatnot, gets mad when we (my friends and I) watch/read them, etcetera etcetera.
My friend wanted to get an interesting haircut. Sonya tried to discourage her, though she got it anyway. When Sonya saw it? "I told you not to get that haircut." Why? "Because it's MY thing."

i hate people who try so so so hard to be unique, especially when it comes down to pretending to have or hamming up "weird" or "unorthodox" traits. a lot of us need to just accept that we're normal. i can understand my own language, i can think, i can react, i have a conscious mind and can understand basic things. if you do too, then youre normal
people who arent normal are like hardcore schizophrenics, the criminally insane(legit real life serial killers, not the fucking stupid anime depiction of "insanity" that scene weeaboos think they all have) or people with severe autism. that's not normal
