Description
Macha. During the trip to the mystical lands west of Scandinavia, members of the Resistance encounter many species of Fae, some friendly, some mischievous, and some violent. Ruling them all, are the mysterious gods called The Morrígan. They consist of Badb, Morrigan and the most powerful, Macha. Goddess of various titles, among them Fertility, Land, and Kingship. She’s known for her beauty and her brutality. She covets the Fae fiercely, and isn’t a fan of other gods pushing their beliefs on others, but is often a kind soul. She was once part of a Fae cult that worshiped the Æsir, but disagreed with her family so she left to start over in what will be Ireland. She helps the resistance find a secret Jotun Alcove said to contain the true prophecy of Ragnarök. Before leaving, she warns the group that killing Odin won’t make things right, nor should the Jotun, Æsir, and Vanir forgive each other for what atrocities they’ve committed (some things can’t be forgiven). Only when all can learn to move forward to a common goal, can some semblance of peace can be earned. I asked my mom to be a model for this drawing covered in one of her shawls.
