Description

I’ve been monumentally stressed out lately so I figured I would take some time to work on a bit of art for ME.

I uploaded the Zinez’kai species ref the other day and I’ve been working on this guy alongside that.

Zinez’kai are a race that uses generally simple language to communicate which makes it hard for some of the races to communicate with them if you aren’t used to their mannerisms.

They are incredibly intelligent mathematically and they tend to do equations for fun and leisure. They can’t see too well or at least they see differently. Their ocular organs are along the side of their necks and they see things that are glowing very brightly the best. They are completely blind in the dark and have to use specialized computer monitors with glowing text to carry out tasks on the space stations they are normally found on.

This particular Zinez’kai is named Dyonis. He has his own ship which is rare for his species as they tend to stick around and be hired by other races and live on their stations.

He is a lot more violent than most of his species he likes working on weapon schematics and all that fun stuff. He has a human hybrid friend in which he is very loving towards.

Beautiful colours, overall reminds me of some deep sea fish. Do they have other means of sensing their environment if sight is not primary?

They definitely have a deep sea look to them! Which I really enjoy.

The vents along their heads and necks are organs specialized in electroreception. Sending pulses out creates a detailed map in their brains of their surroundings and their light sensitive eyes fill in the blanks.

They are able to see outlines with pulses.

This image with the very bright vibrant colors shows a glowing mode and they don't always look like this. As the species is very color and glow oriented they communicate with waves of color washing over their bodies primarily their fins.

They have learned the Lanian language (the kind of intergalactic default tongue on most stations) but they take a bit to understand as they tend to speak using very simple short sentences.

It's normal to see a group of them with glowing and flickering fins as they have conversations with each other.
