“Bramblekit!” he roared.
The bark just below his son was smoldering, and in the next heartbeat the whole trunk was ablaze. Tigerclaw was about to launch himself off the top of the cliff when there was a blur of movement and a soot-stained shape raced up the tree."

You perfectly captured Tiger's emotion here, the one shining moment where he shows fear for his offspring.

I would have loved to see more of Tigerstar being a good, caring father.
I like him as a character, but other than in very few moments, such as this one (it might be the ONLY one), he has absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever. He's just bad.

Just, argh. He saved your son and he let Bramblekit live, and yet you still wanna kill him after saving the son you so called, "cared for." If you cared for him then you should've been there when he grew up instead of being the the main problem for all the Clans. Mouse-brained Tigerstar.

It's more complicated than that. Thistleclaw made him evil by teaching him wrong ways to use his ambition. The way I think about it, he has plenty yeas on to kill Firestar to begin with. Remember, Firestar looks just like Tigerstar's father, Pinestar who left to become a kitty pet. Firestar also ruins all of his plans to try and help his clan in all the wrong ways. Tigerstar also doesn't like Firestar because who is the hero all the time? Firestar, not him. This isn't reason enough to kill but it makes sense thanks to how poorly he's been raised.
