Just a little something I painted tonight. It was initially to teach Randy how to watercolor, but he didn't pay attention at all, so... It's just a piece for me. C:I don't draw Chansu enough. O:

Whoa, VERY nice! <333 I can't believe you did all of this with watercolours.... I haven't used traditional media in my pictures for the longest time because there's no "undo" button to quickly fix things up, and I definitely couldn't blend any of this without turning it a mucky brown.
You, on the other hand, did a wonderful job with shading! Man, this is seriously beautiful. I love how you incorporated the sunset hues into the cliff in the background as well as the water, and how you even managed to achieve the blue troughs and yellow crests of the waves without making the watercolours bleed... please, share your secrets!
The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and if it were real it would be a place I would definitely visit someday. The ship gives me the impression that whoever is captaining it (Chansu?) is returning home from a long journey without a second look back, but the slight glance backwards makes me think it made more of an impression on him than he cares to admit XD The shading on the rocks looks awesome, and the incorporation of the birds is a great touch. My one and only critique would be the clouds-- the portions closest to the sun would match the colour of the sky a bit more closely, but it's watercolour which isn't easy to blend with! XD I like the white rimlights along the edges! The white dots and arcs along the "windows" is reminiscent of CLAMP comics
And yayyyy, there is our pirate! He really comes off as a free spirit here and very laid back. I don't know how you got his hair that dark using watercolours but it has a really awesome look XD I also looooove how it looks like he has facial and body hair (but if it's just the pencil shading effect, forgive me!) His profile makes him look really masculine <333 The one and only critique I have is that his head looks slightly too large for his body, maybe lengthen the torso and arms a bit next time.

Hah, I actually really don't care for this one, looking at it now... XD;; But I'm glad you do! To be honest, I think the only significance the ship has is just that it is a ship, to keep in the viewer's mind that he is an ex-pirate. XD

OMG her work is so amazing! I can see some of her style in the way you blend colours, but at the same time you've developed your own colouring style. Your colours are a lot more vivid, and the shading is more apparent.
Clouds can be pretty tough because there are just so many types of them, as well as a variety of different colours depending on the time of day. Especially with watercolours and other traditional work where you can't really eyedrop or press "undo" XDDD
