Description Last year, I made a map of the Siege of Leningrad, as depicted through the eyes of the characters in my story (see: fav.me/d8r7did ). Now, I've made a map of the Siege of Leningrad from a more historical perspective, along with it being more detailed.

The Siege of Leningrad was one of the worst single battles/sieges to ever occur. Along with two other battles on the Eastern Front, Berlin and Stalingrad, it was one of only 3* battles/sieges to have over a million deaths, civilian or otherwise. It's entirely possible it was the absolute bloodiest, with upper estimates saying that there were about 4,5-5 million casualties. I, and many historians, often like to describe the siege as Hitler's greatest death camp.

*The Siege of Baghdad by the Mongols may had broke a million or maybe even 2 million deaths as well, but this isn't confirmed. I'm also not counting campaigns such as the Barbarossa or Dnieper campaigns

Wow cool project!

That siege was definitly one of the worst things in the war, tho to be honest Stalin insisted on not evacuating the
city of civilizians, so Hitler and Stalin both share the deaths in my opinion.

Is Shlisselburg the russian way to write it? Because in German we call it SchlΓΌsselburg.

*quickly compares the two comments you made on the two different maps* Wow, you said almost the exact same thing, even asking about Shlisselburg/Schlusselburg (although you did compliment my map this time around (thanks!))

Anyways, for Schlisselburg, I do believe it is the Russian version of writing it (although they have that weird not-latin Cyrillic script, so maybe it's actually Schlusselburg).
