Touko, Touko, Touko!” Bianca shouted, bouncing on her toes outside ofsaid girl’s balcony. She whined a few more times before Touko came out with a book practically glued to her face. Now, Touko wasn’t much of a reader, but once she started this book, she couldn’t get out of it.

“Hey, Bianca. What’s up?” She greeted without putting the book down.

“There’s a fair in the giants’ part of town and Touya invited me. He said I could bring too if you wanted to come.” Bianca folded her arms over her chest, guessing Touko wasn’t really listening.

Finally, she had sent the book down, after marking her place in it of course, and looked down to Bianca from the railing. “Hmm, sure I guess. What time?”

“Right now silly! Oh, and dress pretty, but casual. N might be there!” Bianca squealed to herself, thinking about all the times she had thought how cute the two looked together. And how happy they made each other.

“Wha-“ Touko’s face beet red and she forced away her smile. “Why would him being there affect what I wear?”

“You know why, now hurry!” Bianca shouted, running to her front door and pounded on it a few times. Touko let out a huff and went back into her bedroom to get ready.

Touko played with her dark green sweater one last time, grinning at herself in the mirror. She couldn’t help but be happy about how little she worked on her ‘make over’ to become so perfect to her. It was chilly outside, so that’s why she settled for a simple winter green sweater and jeans. She had her hair up in her usual messy ponytail, having curled tassel-like bunches hanging beside her face. She puffed her cheeks out some, trying to make herself laugh to rid of her jumpy nerves.

“He might not even show. He hates doing things around so many people.” A pinch nipped at her heart at the thought of him not showing. She wanted him to be there, but she understood why he wouldn’t be; not why her heart hurt like that.

She walked beside Bianca, who was beside Touya, as they made their way to the Fair. They passed by the road to N’s home, and Touko stared at it until she could no longer see it. Bianca grabbed her sleeve gently and tugged it. “You should go invite him, or at least hang out with him.”

“Yup. We’d get it if you’d rather ditch us for him.” Touya teased.

“Huh? Oh, no way. You guys invited me. N can wait.” Touko smiled.

“Oh, Touko, look!” Bianca squealed. “They’ve got cotton candy here! Let’s go get some!” She grabbed Touko’s hand and dragged her towards the booth, avoid any of the giants easily. She could tell Touko was nervous of being so crowded by giants, so Bianca decided to be careful what she pulled her through.

After ordering the cotton candy and sharing it together, they met back up with Touya where they decided what to do first. So the two of them didn’t get lost or hurt in the crowd, Touya placed both Bianca and Touko on his shoulder.

“Oh, what about the gold fish game? Touko and I played that every year when the fair came to our town!” Bianca suggested, jumping up and down on Touya’s shoulder.

“Heheh~ Alright.” Touya smiled, raising a hand slowly and putting it behind Bianca in case she slipped on his shirt and fell. “Are you ok with that, Touko?”

“Uhuh!” She mumbled, trying to swallow the huge wad of cotton candy she had just stuffed in her mouth. “I’m gawd wiff tot.” She managed to swallow it all finally and laughed, clinging to Touya’s soft shirt as she laughed.

Both Touya and Bianca laughed with her as he moved to the booth for the goldfish game. He bumped against someone, making him nearly topple over. He put a hand around Bianca and Touko so they didn’t fall. A hand grabbed his arm and hoisted him up before he hit the ground. “S-sorry! I’m sorry. I was trying not to bump into anyone!”

“N? Nah, its fine. You tow ok?” Touya asked, somewhat worriedly.

“Yup, we’re fine!” Bianca and Touko answered, Touko already on her feet beaming at N.

“Oh, Touko? I-I didn’t realize you’d come too. I was just about to go get you to invite you to come with me.” N blushed some.

“Really? Thanks…” She blushed too, and looked away trying to hide it.

“Oh, Touya, Why don’t we go to the Ferris wheel together? N can take Touko if he wants since he was already planning to go get her!” Bianca smiled at Touko, elbowing her gently.

“Hmm? Oh yeah we can. N, you’re fine with that right?” Touya was already picking Touko up and giving her to N when he asked.

“I- yeah, of course.” N replied smiling as Touko knelt in his hands smiling up at him, a blush definite on her cheeks. Before he could say anything more, Touya and Bianca were gone into the crowd. “Well, what would you like to do?”

“I dunno, you pick. What kinda thing do you usually do when you come to a fair?” Touko looked around thinking.

“I haven’t actually been to a fair, or at least been to one and did something. But I have ridden the Ferris wheel a few times and I really liked it.”

“Oh, then we can do that! I love the Ferris wheels when the fair comes to town.” Touko stood up in his hands and ran up closer to him.

N blushed again and nodded. “Ok, let’s go then. Want to ride on my shoulder?” When she nodded, he lifted her up gently to his shoulder.

By the time they got there, the line was short, it was getting dark out, and they were sure Touya and Bianca had gone home or to another part of the fair. The town was light up with the fair lights and the billions of stars in the sky. The Ferris wheel operator had told the two that their ride would be the last one of the night. They were also the only ones to ride on that ride. The carts were metal platforms with glass tops shaped like circles.

N climbed inside, carefully dodging the lowered arch of the glass door and trying not to jostle Touko too much. He noticed a small bench, but didn’t bother to sit. He walked up to the glass and looked over the towns as the two of them rose into the sky. Touko jumped down into N’s hands and placed her hands against the glass, gaping at all the lights.

“It’s so beautiful!” Touko whispered.

N chuckled and nodded. “Yeah, you- it is.” He blushed bright red and shifted to where his forehead was pressed above Touko. She looked up and smiled as his green hair tickled at her nose and ears. She tugged at the bunch of his hair hanging at her side, making N look down at her. When he did, his lips brushed against her forehead making them both turn beet red. She jerked her head down back to the scenery for a moment before looking back up. N’s eyes were on her and a smile beaming on his lips.

“N…” Touko Whispered. N’s smile widened some as he looked at her reflection in the glass.

“You look really nice today.” He said before she could finish her sentence. “Green looks good on you.”

Touko blushed. “Only you’d say that, mister green hair.”

N chuckled. “No really.” Small water droplets hit the window pane. “Huh? Looks like its raining. Guess they’re gonna take us off early.”

“Yeah…N?”

“Hmm?”

“I… Huh?” On her head were N’s lips once again. A blush glowing on his and her cheeks. His eyes were closed, but he obviously looked happy.

“Thank you, for coming with me.” He pulled away some and rested his head on the window again. “I used to do this with my mom when I was younger, but I haven’t ridden one in a long time. I’m glad I rode it again with you.”

Touko moved on his hand and grabbed his white shirt, hugging him the best she could. “Me too, thanks N.”
