Description

More recent painting I did of my VT Staghound. Used to do a lot of art like this but kinda lost interest last year as I got more into using Blender for all my projects. Have several decent quality ones I may put up in the future, mostly tanks but I think I have a ship or too tucked away. I do have a 3D model of this guy that I think I haven't posted about yet either.

The VT Staghound was the first mass produced tank fielded by the Tridainian Alliance. The design was overall quite bizarre with some factions lobbying for a fast tank while others a troop transport. The result was a lengthy chassis and oversized turret that, while having excessive crew space, was unnecessary large for the gun and equipment used. The design was also influenced by the recent loss of Tridainian's naval fleet, which left the nation short on resources and vulnerable to invasion. As such, the tanks were rushed through production as quickly as possible with engineers often assembling them out of whatever was available to them. Most often had completely different internal parts as a result, with anything from aircraft to small boat engines being used. The tracks were also oversized and often broke off at high speeds. Overall, the tank was a mechanical disaster. Nevertheless, during the invasion of New Tigrid, 10 were deployed and saw relative success. Their high mobility allowed them to outmaneuver heavier Ferrous Krait heavy's. Out of the vehicles deployed, 4 were knocked out, 5 broke down, with this particular vehicle, 'Rapid Unplanned Deconstruction' being the only survivor. Later standardizations and upgrades greatly improved the vehicle and it went on to be Tridainian's longest serving vehicle, with many serving with Columbia and Stonewall units as scout vehicles. Fun fact: it is only Tridainian vehicle to use VVSS suspension.
