Battle of Leyte
The Battle of Leyte in the Pacific campaign of World War II was the invasion and conquest of the island of Leyte in the Philippines by American and Filipino guerrilla forces under the command of General Douglas MacArthur, who fought against the Imperial Japanese Army in the Philippines led by General Tomoyuki Yamashita from 20 October - 31 December 1944. The battle launched the Philippines campaign of 1944–45 for the recapture and liberation of the entire Philippine Archipelago and to end almost three years of Japanese occupation. This was also the first battle in which the Japanese used kamikaze pilots.

Amazingly well done! I've always enjoyed learning about the pacific campaign! The one time America is kinda 'THE HERO' as hetalia likes to put it. The battle was won but lives were lost, I wish that could have been avoided but war is war.
My nation gained much from the trails we passed during this conflict and in the end so did the Philippines and Japan. We were all once hated foes but here we come together as allies, our friendship was forged in the fires of war and tightened in the waters of peace! May our nations stay allies and friends!

The Battle of Leyte really marked the beginning of the end for Japan in the war, so he sure as hell should be crying right now. Japan's Navy(their ability to prosecute the war across the Pacific) was just decimated during this battle and their was really no way after this battle they could win this war. They divided their fleet into two fleets. The largest Battleships ever created the Yamoto and the Musashi were used in that Battle. The Musashi was to be the flag ship for the main force attacking from the west while the Yamoto was to lead the Northern fleet attacking from the North. The main fleet along with the Musashi was destroyed by aircraft from carriers. This really marked the end of the Battleship top dog Naval ship out their and the Aircraft Carriers future dominance. The Northern fleet was ironically kept at bay by a small land support group called the Taffy 3 mistook for one of the American's main battle groups. Although half the Taffy 3's ships were sunk, but a number Japanese battleships were sunk and the Northern fleet ended up retreating still thinking it was fighting a major US force. The Yamoto would later be sunk by Aircraft Carrier planes in April 7, 1945 just south of the Japanese island of Kyushi on it's way to defend Okinawa. After Leyte the Japanese just didn't have the resources particularly fuel to keep their Navy going.

There is a reference for the Philippines' World War 2 uniform but the pic is in black and white and gray. I tried it on my OC, Metro Manila and decided to use colors like in Alfred's uniform and with black boots, the reference is in wikipedia by the way.
