Sort of, especially in case Gentle Heart has an attack of shyness. In fact, it looks like I anticipated the relationship between Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash with that one.

Srsly, I picture Grumpy being straightforward enough to step up for Gentle Heart when she is too timid to say anything that could be taken as tough or uncaring. In the same way that Rainbow Dash stuck up for Fluttershy when she was getting hassled at flight camp.
