Useless in an urban setting.  Minimum range, no real use for the long range, and same damage...for a lot more tonnage and higher heat.   If it needs range, it has 3 MLasers, more than enough range for 90% of urban environments.  Conversely, 8 MGs and 3 MLs means a potential 31 pt alpha in city block ranges, for no waste heat.

in MWO or TT?  I make em rock in both, TBH.....actually we got a thread in MWO dedicated to the Urbie, and a lot of players are getting some pretty solid results.   It's a solid tier 2 PUG mech.  For TT?  It's just a matter of playing to it's strengths.

High speed is relative....it's actually a hodgepodge Urbanmech running on the guts of some scrapped VLK-QAs left over from the 4th Succession War.  It's part of a home grown Police Force/Militia on for the capital city of Hsien. TThere were huge mothballs of wrecked FedSun Valkyries, and Capellan Urbanmechs. The local militia was always ignored for funding and their sole Stinger had been around since the Age of War. Fortunately what the Militia did have was an abundance of tinkering techs, and a Commander prone to looking the other way. So by combining the drivetrains of Valkyries with the raw chassis of the UrbanMech, these guys were born. The weapons are two of the cheapest and most common guns in the Inner Sphere, and also what the Stinger happened to be equipped with, and so they kept ordering replacement weapons for "defective ones" on the Stinger.  They scraped together a lance of these, and later models would become more "civil protection" oriented, with SRM launchers for smoke, tear gas and fire retardant, a high pressure water cannon with internal reservoir, and a dual magazine for the minigun, one with LTL ammo, one with FMJ.  Anyhow, high speed in this case is 86 kph..... or the speed of Light if the pilot uses one of it's 3 medium lasers.

Interesting reasoning.

I suppose I SHOULDN'T be surprised, though.  One of my favorite fan stories is Captain Zippy's Urbanmech Cavalry after all.
