Description Flurry bounded over the trail, the elder beast speaker holding on tight. the blue streak was followed by the dark shadow of Darkfang, wondering why their berry picking had been cut short. as the trio entered the beast speakers tent area, and the elder woman moved with the energy of a young spring day. The two beasts watched as she busied herself, placing soft stuffed pillows and leathers, and took a broom sweeping leaves and fluff.
Flurry had never in her life seen the woman who had always been methodical and each decision purposeful and crafted, this way. this was frantic. Dark twisted an ear, something on the trail. a short warning bark emerged from deep within. Bright moon, stopped and quickly tucked her broom away and stepped out in to the sun.
Clopping hooves could be heard on the stony pathway, as well as indistinct talking. Bright moons heart beat fast, her hands sweat, and even in the cool high altitude air she sweated. she clasped her hands together, as the clops became louder.
"How do you know she will be here, what if she isn't at her tent?" A voice like a smooth summer breeze wisped over to her. taking a deep breath, she saw a night saber bound over the ledge and greet her affectionetly, chuffing and prancing around, disregarding the soft chuffing barks from Dark.
"Bright moon! It was as you said, haswessi told me things and taught me, Dawn has a cub, well he is almost as big as me now. We found."
"Aurora," The elder whispered as her eyes glistened and there was no attempt to stay them. she covered her mouth, speechless as the girl now a woman, rode in on the ochre horse.
Aurora's heart pounded as she saw the age her mother kept, her hair once brown and grey now the colors of snow. Without prompting, her legs moved. before she knew what had happened she was in full embrace of her mother, both awash with emotion. years and distance had no erosion to the bond they shared.
"let your mother look at you." Brightmoon clasped her hand on Aurora's face, she had grown into a mature woman. aged fingers wiped the river of tears away, and they embraced again.
"I missed you so much. im sorry I ran away, I probably made a mess of your standing and they force you to live outside the tribe." Aurora began speaking fast and even got a hiccup.
"Child, shh, nothing you did affected me. Many things have changed in the eight winters you were gone. this tribe has changed, for the better mostly." Brightmoon smiled, as her daughter sniffled and the man that rescued her patted the great glacier beast, and tried to befriend the wary Worg.
"Mother, did our tribe run off the other tribes?" Aurora asked as the two sat out of the sun in the tent sipping a soothing mint tea.
Brightmoon took a breath, she had been young in the worst days, her daughter had felt the bitterness as well. "yes and no. You remember the famine about the time you left, the reason we stayed in the lower hunting plains that year, and of course the bad omen of the mother worg being killed."
Aurora nodded, "I remember being hungry, the smell of sickness, and I can never forget papa trying to help that pup after his hunt leader killed its mother."
"yes, that summer."
Darks ears perked up, it had sounded like the story his mother told to them, or his father.
"Your father, may his spirit walk with Hassawei, had been trying his best to rut out the remaining faction of beast branders. as the worg chief it was his duty to ensure our beasts suffered no harm. that responsibility fell to your cousin, who has taken the duty and really had success. that worg was captured by one of the last, Dogan, they live outside of the tribe, but near enough to trade, and steal." Brightmoon nodded to Dark who now sat pretending he hadn't been listening.
"Darks mother is that mother worgs pup. she is called the White demon, though her beast name is Ashfang. her mothers death has caused a black heart in her towards us. though it seems not all of the pack is the same." She smiled at the young worg whose ear flicked at the human speech of his name.
Rohain stepped in followed by Crow who chuffed towards Dark in a familiar fashion. "Sturdy worg pup. though he isn't Ochre or snow colored. unusual for the tribe."
"You should know a linage when you see one." Brightmoon said, smiling. "That is the product of Redsky, or that is the name of the man who spoke for him in the spirit realm. though I think he goes by Crusher." Rohain looked back at the worg, calm, collected, and not snarling. he locked eyes and for a moment he could see Crusher looking back at him.
"Well, huh." Aurora and Brightmoon laughed as Rohain became silent, looking at the offspring of the lead worg of his tribe.
"I owe you all a story." Brightmoon began. "The great famine that struck the lands years ago, caused our tribe to change. we used to take from other, stealing, fighting, and pushing out until we ourselves needed help and no one was there. a sign of three happened that summer. a deer born female sprouted horns and fought as a male. sign that change was coming and it would be hard. then the great ice fell clogging the river, chocking the waterways to the valley. it forced us to stay in the plains that year. then, the worst omen for our tribe, a mother worg was killed in camp, mother to a sacred white worg. if I had been able to speak to her, maybe the spirits wouldn't have been as vengeful as they were. within a month half of our herds had crumbled into sickness, bad water. then rains made going to the mountains impossible and our homes sucked into mud. taking my mate and several beasts, and that changed our tribe. we opened to traders, began bartering the next spring, and now we allow traveler to stay. the man you had once been promised to, now is the chiefs second. it seems your work for Hasswei brought us back in his favor." Brightmoon looked at Dark and back at Rohain and Aurora. taking a deep breath she spoke. "let him return with you, he is a beast of his own pack, he will come and go as he pleases but one day, not too far away, I will be gone. he will be claimed and forced to be tamed. I have told him he should go with you to see the world, he has the nature of a wanderer. Maybe he will meet a kindred soul, but I know I was only a stepping stone in his path as I was in yours."
As they discussed their travels well into the night, Dark eventually circled around Rohain and Aurora. Crow slept near Flurry, in awe of her majestic color. soon even Rohain nodded off leaving only the two women awake.
"Aurora, I want you to seek out the god of knowledge,as I once did. from it I was able to truly grasp my gift. I was with the mother of Flurry, aiding me. you share a strong bond with thunder, take him. there will be trials but when you feel I am walking with you in the spirit realm it will be time." Aurora nodded, understanding her mothers wish.

Aaaah how precious!
I'm so happy the reunion went smoothly between mother and daughter! Such a dark story, but glad they changed their ways for the best.
And looks like Thunder and Aurora will meet soon with Mamota! Wishing them all the luck!

they had to in order to survive. they are now a peaceful tribe for the most part. and yes. I figured the god of knowledge would be a good thing for them.
