Description
Figure-Ground piece for a painting final. Since I used a photo of my German Shepherd, Kitty, laying on a Disney 101 Dalmatian sheet atop a sofa for a reference, I though this would be easy to work with due to having minimal color. (I intentionally excluded painting the actual characters to save time, only adding the spots.) It was fun doing a monochrome scheme, saving the color specifically for the eyes to create a small contrast with the rest of the composition. Even though she herself isn’t a Dalmatian, I added spots to her fur coat so she’d blend in with the sheet, like as if she was an inverted portion of it.
