Try using colored pencils instead of markers, they tend to work loads better.

Ah, can you recommend any in particular? At first I did just try with some cheap ones, but I found they hardly showed up at all and tended to fray the edges of the paper. :/

hmm, that sounds plausible! I do have quite a range of papers, I'll probably do some experimenting.
Hairspray sounds interesting... I think I read somewhere that it helps to stop ink from smudging when using inkjet printers, but I've never tried it myself.

so in your opinion, what is the hardest, boxy-shapes, triangular-pointy shapes (like the teeth here) or round shapes, such as the body on pikachu ( [link] ) and the chain chomp. Oh, and which project piece was the hardest out of the ones in your gallery?

wow thank you so much for your reply! That halps ^^ What do you reccomend for som1 who wants to try this type of papercrafting for the first time? Anything that looks cool? I'm kinda diggin the cat. Or the squirtle for my bf.

Hmm, well it's always best to go as simple as possible for the first time. Large pieces and not very many pages. It really does get a lot easier with practice, so I'd say slowly work up to more complicated models. ^^
