Description Aren't the Outset houses beautiful? Anyway, since this house is so beautiful, I figured I'd do a papercraft of it. It's actually really easy to build, if a bit fiddly in places. Let me know if you do it! (I'll be happy. )

Yeah, I changed the photo. I didn't like the other one.

it looks pretty hard but if you say it's easy I think I'll attempt it. ^_^

There are some pretty fiddly parts, but apart from that the hardest part is making sure you put all the fencing pieces in the right place.
It was a long time ago that I built it, but if you have some experience with small parts I don't think it should be too hard...

well, I've made 3 howl's moving castle and am no stranger to small parts. tweezers are life savers when it comes to tricky small parts. wind waker link's hands were very tricky, but I've made 4 of those, so... ^_^

Wow, that's very impressive! I could never find the patience to the same papercraft twice... (especially complicated ones!) ^^

ok, more specifically, my plan is to build it from the rooftop and down, is that a good idea?

Rooftop down is a good idea. I built it the other way and had issues closing the roof...

oh yeah, by the way, do you have any tips for this build? it's kinda hard to see the lines in the lined pdf, so I'm gonna try and fold it as I see it in the pdo, but that'll be a bit harder than a lined pdo. but do you have any tips, like the order to build it in or anything like that?

Oh, yeah, you're right... It is kinda hard to see the lines. I meant to include a lined .pdo, I must have forgotten... Here's one if you need it, though! [link]

I'm more or less done now, but thank you! from the roof down was very easy. though, the window was too complicated so I made it a bit more simple. so far it's been a fun and easy build. I'll put up pic when it's done.

yeah, I'm kinda done with doing the same thing twice. so far I've made 2 headcrabs, 3 howl's moving castles and 2 wind waker link. the second time around is boring and irritating. though, some aspects are nice, like, the second time you'll know what didn't work, so at least you won't make the same mistake twice. ^_^
mostly it's been for friends. now I don't really care, I just want to get rid of them, so if a friend asks for one of my papercrafts, I give it away.

I'm currently attempting this build. I've finished the stone base (which was somewhat difficult in some areas, particularly the parts that didn't have enough room to have a large tab to hold it together) I'm using a combination of tape on the interior, and clear drying cement. I have a lot of faith in how it's going to come out. Just from the base I can clearly see the shape and attention to detail.

I wonder if you have any tips for the framework under the deck however? I see that there are differently sized yellow dots. Are these indicative of where things will be attached? I have to admit some of them look nearly identical or too small to make out shapes. Would it be possible to add some numbers to the PDF showing what should attach where?

Thanks for the great work!
~Wil

okay, first, thanks! Well, the yellow dots just say with face sticks to the deck or another piece, and the black faces will be on the base. Basically, when finished, there are no yellow dots visible, and the bottom faces should all be black. THe sizes are just beacause I used the same texture on all of them, and it scaled it according to the size of the face... as for order, the very best advice I can give is to use the .PDO for reference. You can open it with pepakura viewer. (download here) [link] It's completey free and really, really useful. If you just click on the part you'r unsure about, it'll show you exactly where it goes in relation to the rest of the model. I never papercraft without it!

I'll look at the template. Looks nice, but I don't have enough room for big crafts!
