this is just awesome - i would only suggest to leave the green border away - but that mysterious reflection is just terrific - the horror of the man eating lamp post!

thanks. yeah, i have troubles with borders. the ones i do never really look right. i like a nice, clean big black border, but they never work with my pictures because they're always so contrasty that a black border swallows up the blacks.

borders can add a touch of professionality, though sometimes I prefer not to put any border. I guess it's a feeling whether you should or should not make a border. Alas, always room for discussion!

I love the pic. . . did the oil show up very clearly w/out the photo manip? not that it matters, its still really cool. . . just thought it might appeal to those anti-manip people to see the original. . .

w/o the manip it just looked like an oil slick normally does - grey and rainbow-y. i brought the blue color up in photoshop, but it came up more with contrast adjustment than color balancing.
i don't think i'd want to show the origional though (unless i was showing off my skills...). this is my finished piece and i'm happy with it. i think it's more artistic the way it is without the manip, because i did it intentionally, with artistic vision ;D

it is. this is just a nasty little puddle on the side of the road. the swirles in the water oil runoff from the road.
