Description a.k.a "Model Prison"

I like to freeze models in ice for pictures. Please note, no one has been hurt and the models are already in good condition again.

Part of the Vision Series. [link] [link]

EDIT: Decided to remove the ugly black frame because it didn't fit the picture at all. It was a phase... also: print available! (March 2007)

quite an interesting idea to execute -- like the way you "froze" them --- forever remembered -- but not exactly as how we see them -- later days

Very weird, but very cool too. It's kind of creepy and a bit disturbing. You have some very cool concepts.

woah this is great, looks like its shot under-merky-water. but as i have seen the others in the series i know its not. This has to be my fav of the three, mainly because of the light parts of the faces make the people look more like spirits.

This one's my favorite of the series, I love how the plastic distorts the models, like they're underwater or in some other dimension. Great concept

dekard49 [2006-03-09 15:56:13 +0000 UTC]

This one leans far more heavily towards creepy! Like another dimension, the inhabitants trying to break through to us...

Wow! Cleverly done, but the ice looks too clear, too lucid. Frost or scratch marks would help, looks perfect. I like how the models are gazing out but at what you don't know... Well done.

Staged In reply to Couthea [2005-12-01 16:49:56 +0000 UTC]

Well, it wasn't supposed to look like ice, that was not the intention. I just discovered afterwards that it reminded me a lot of ice.

Great picture! I really love the speckled look across the top. It does make it look like ice, especially with the two figures looking so still. I only just noticed the girl down the bottom, looking like she's swimming to the surface. I really like this.

I'm really not sure what to think! I don't know if I find this funny, frightening, beautiful, or just plain cool.
That's a good thing in a Photo I think. Something traditional that nags at your feelings and pulls you apart in so many different ways.

Very nice photo, that has been cleverly done (I saw the other photos) . It could do with being a bit more frosty, if it is ice, as it just looks too perfect somehow

I love the effect that pane of glass has on your models, and also the different depths of them, and the spotty forest lighting thing going on. Good stuff.

That's it ... that's all of us!
So exquisitely, you have captured it in a single image!

Pressing up against the barrier that binds and molds us. The only effect; a temporary distortion of the surface of our cage.
Either that, or we just stare blindly, in wistful yearning, at the realm of freedom just beyond our fears, on the other side of our collective prison.

Nicely Done!!!

this really does look chilling. ..... i meant haunting and creepy. especially the model on the left. she just has this very striking expression that i can't even put into words. the reflection of the trees above them really make it seem like they're trapped in and alone in the middle of the forest far away from any person who would rescue them.
