Description Robe a la Francaise, made from black pinstripe fabric and decorated with vinyl trims and buckles.

After I've sold my first francaise : [link]
I decided to make a new one, luckily I found that pinstripe fabric (cotton blend) that seemed to look perfect as a francaise.
At first I wanted to make the typical trims with ruches and so on, but I had some vinyl left over, so I thought it would be fun to give that very romantic type of gown a little taste of fetish

So here it is

It is worn over stays, a large panier and one petticoat. it closes at center front of the so called compère, because I always hatet to pin the stomacher of the violet gown in place, this is more comfortable to wear

Thank you
I find it quite interesting to use old dress forms and break the style with modern additions. I have a few more ideas at the moment ...

Nun, das Empfinden des Aufwandes verschiebt sich, wenn man oft ganz große, aufwendige Kleider macht kommt es einem nicht mehr so schlimm vor wie vielleicht bei den ersten Stücken.

Wow! Very lovely. My first thoughts were that it looks very Burton-esqe. Haha.

I love it! I've been talking with a friend of throwing an 18th century party, with clothe smadeout of unusual fabrics. I think it would be fun to play around with.

Some years ago, as I just started with historical clothes, I planned to make a Francaise entirely out of vinyl and shock our reenactors *g* but they reacted quite relaxed ...

LOL A friend of mine saw a woman at a party that had a full 1870's bustle dress made out of vinyl. He said it was quite spectacular.
