Description Yes, she has antlers. They are actually growing out of her head. Also, she is not a druid. I mean, I don't think she is. If you can’t tell from the drawing, she is stopping those arrows with a wave of her hand.

This one is a bit more busy than my usual images and I hope you can see the different elements. I usually draw rocks and stone formations around my characters. Those are fun and easy. This stuff is a bit more challenging.

My favorite part the costume is the little tooth hanging from her belt.

The original drawing is 13 inches tall and about 11 inches wide.

Thanks, that's cool of you to say.
Though, I would like to try re-designing this character some day.

Nothing wrong with a girl with antlers, though I wouldn't want to butt heads with her. ... Yeah, I know, but I can't resist a bad pun.

Anywho, again, I really like the character design and all the little details in the outfit that make her stand out and come to life. Also nice work on the background. The extra effort has paid off nicely, I'd say.

You always have my permission to throw in a bad pun!

Hmmm, I never thought of that.
She probably just sleeps on her back propped up a bit by her antlers. I dare say she must have some strong neck muscles. She must have trouble getting through doors as well.

Druidess maybe? Great work though, think so of the most detailed (besides good ol' Glem Gerbo) that I have seen you do! I know you don't do it much but a slight bit of coloring (even just a few highlights here and there) would really make this something more.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

staino In reply to NennaFox [2009-01-17 18:54:17 +0000 UTC]

The back story doesn't have her as a druid but a sorceress. The story was so long I didn't write it. Besides I was itching to get this posted and I couldn't wait write up her origin. Also, I just don't like druids.
True, The highlights could help differentiate the separate elements of this image. I keep saying I will get back in to coloring. I just need to became independently wealthy and them paint all day long!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NennaFox In reply to staino [2009-01-17 19:03:47 +0000 UTC]

Ah well sorceress makes sense too Is it a spell that makes her antlers or is it natural? Now I am just curious. And no worries Druids and Elves in general I usually dont trust/like.

You could also color it a little bit at a time, that is what I usually end up doing...course then again I don't paint or even know if you can do that with paint.

staino In reply to NennaFox [2009-01-23 17:40:23 +0000 UTC]

If someday I get the time, I will write out the idea for this character. You know explain were the antlers come from and all that. If I do I will let you know.

Blaine, brother, I am glad you are still alive. Was worried about you. Hadn't seen anything new from you for a while and was even thinking to write you a note last night when today I see this specatcular new piece. I do not find this busy at all. The close set background does not detract from the main character in the least and your representation of her being able to deflect/destroy arrow strikes is obvious. I like the tooth but I think the whole thing is a marvelously detailed work. I very much want to see if I could sculpt this woodland nymphette warrior as a working 25 mm scale miniature to join my (as yet untouched) Wood Elf Army complete with surrounding terrain.
