Commander Castro on the bridge of the USS POTEMKIN in late 2256. My OCs by karolding.deviantart.com/ . During the Federation/Klingon War of 2256-2257 USS POTEMKIN was sent on a rescue mission behind Klingon lines. Captain Cooper led a team to a Klingon held moon using a shuttle craft while Commander Castro, in charge of the POTEMKIN, engaged three enemy patrol ships in a 'run and shoot' battle. This gave the rescue team's shuttle craft cover allowing it to slip past the patrol ships and planetary defenses landing undetected on the moon. The team evaded the Klingon guards, rescued the prisoners, fighting the enemy on the way out. Escaping successfully.

Meanwhile under Commander Castro's command, the POTEMKIN feigned, slashed, and parried with the three Klingon ships drawing them away from their patrol zones. Playing on their overly aggressive nature, Castro kept the Klingons attention until she received word from Captain Cooper that the mission was successful and they are returning with the prisoners and wounded. Castro then took the 'gloves off' and brought the full strength of the POTEMKIN to bear on the Klingons, destroying all three.

Here we see Castro giving orders on the bridge. Lt. Welker the navigator in the foreground and Lt. Ava Lehmann at communications, monitors subspace radio for word from the rescue team during the battle.
