The DOMINION WAR has raged for over a year and during that time Starfleet has made strides in technological innovation. War often brings out new technologies born of desperation.

This Tactical Astrometrics Lab is the brainchild of Lt.Commander T'Lin, Lt.Commander Karoul the chief of security at Delta Aquilae, and Commander Massina, Delta Aquilae's Intelligence Officer. After six months of work they have developed a long range tactical observation lab that can monitor the location of enemy fleets and locate enemy installations. The unit also shows the deployment of Starfleet and allied forces over extremely long ranges using the same technology as a regular astrometrics lab only modified with sophisticated tactical subroutines. This enables the crew to monitor the front from a distance and chart enemy fleet movements. All information is immediately sent to Starfleet Command and sector units. The Tactical Astrometrics Lab is a giant leap forward in Federation capabilities.

More technical adjustments have to be made before the new lab is operating at peak efficiency and more personnel chosen for training on the new technology. Admiral T'Var is impressed and will send a report explaining and describing the new lab.
