After a week long journey from the Delta Aquilae Shipyards, with one short stop over to lend assistance, Fleet Admiral T'Var has arrived at Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco. My OCs by www.deviantart.com/dazinbane . Along with her is her aide Lieutenant Kina Deir, the captain of the USS VENTURE, Kelly Okoye, and first officer Commander Gabriella Gutierrez.

Fleet Admiral Shrahl, the deputy Chief of Staff of Starfleet Command greets the newly promoted Fleet Admiral T'Var in the atrium of Starfleet Headquarters. Along side of the Andorian admiral is his aide Commander Olivia Mtume. By her request, there is no large delegation there to greet T'Var and the officers with her. The Andorian flag officer and his aide walk up to the arriving officers, smiling slightly as he watches them approach. Both groups halt a few feet apart and politely greet each other.

"Welcome back to Starfleet Headquarters Fleet Admiral T'Var.." Shrahl says warmly, his hand outstretched. "I'm Fleet Admiral Strahl, deputy Chief of Staff and this is my aide Commander Mtume."

T'Var stretches out her hand and shakes the fleet admiral's hand.

"Greetings Fleet Admiral Shrahl, Commander Mtume..." T'Var replies. "Thank you for welcoming us. May I introduce my aide, Lieutenant Kina Deir and this is Captain Kelly Okoye and Commander Gabriella Gutierrez of the USS VENTURE."

Fleet Admiral Shrahl steps closer and shakes their hands one by one.

"Lieutenant Deir, Commander Gutierrez, and Captain Okoye..." Shrahl says. "Welcome home Captain.. it really has been a long time for you and your crew. In the name of the people of the United Federation of Planets and Starfleet, we celebrate your return nearly a century after you left for a six month mission. We have taken the liberty of contacting the next of kin of everyone on board and informing them of your arrival. For those crew members from off world, we have arranged transport to their home planets. You and your senior officers will be debriefed first then allowed to depart. You all have been granted sixty days leave during which time you and your crew can decide if you will remain in Starfleet or take retirement."

Kelly and Gabby trade curious glances as they absorb the admiral's words, before they turn their attention back to him.

"We understand, Admiral..." Captain Okoye says. "My crew is about to disembark from the VENTURE. Commander Gutierrez and I would like to be there when they arrive in order to explain what happens next."

Strahl nods his head in agreement then turns his gaze to his aide.

"Commander Mtume, please escort Captain Okoye and Commander Gutierrez to Terminal One so that they can meet their crew as they arrive." Strahl orders. "We have personnel there to assist with their needs." He tells Okoye.

Commander Mtume nods at the admiral's orders.

"Yes sir.." She replies before stepping over to Okoye and Gutierrez. She makes a gesture with her hand to guide the two officers. "Captain, Commander... this way please."

Kelly and Gabby pause for a moment to address T'Var. The Vulcan turns toward her old friends, her eyes soften slightly as they step closer, shaking her hand. Gabby forgets all protocol and hugs her friend tightly. T'Var actually retuns the hug for a moment, a completely emotional response for a Vulcan. Kelly joins them in a group hug before they all step back, regaining their composure.

"Thank you for everything, Fleet Admiral.." Gabby says softly, choking back her tears. "I hope to see you again soon."

"As do I Admiral..." Kelly Okoye chimes in. "We appreciate all that you've done for us."

T'Var gazes at her two friends for a moment before she speaks. For a minute it's 2276 again, the last time they were all together.

"I regret that we did not spend more time together.." T'Var replies softly. "I sincerely hope to rectify that as soon as possible. Good luck to you both and remember, my door is always open for you."

Gabby and Kelly return T'Var's kind words with smiles and nods of acknowledgement. Then they fall in behind Commander Mtume and walk away through the throng of passing Starfleet officers.

T'Var watches for a moment then turns her attention back to Fleet Admiral Shrahl.

"Shall we go, Admiral?" T'Var asks. "I believe the CnC wants to meet with me. We have much to discuss.."

The three officers walk down the hall, Strahl leads the way as he engages T'Var in small talk, reminding her of their last meeting thirteen years ago when he was captain of the USS ARGO...

"So much has changed here..." T'Var thinks to herself as she walks..
