Description Woo-hoo!

I didn't want to post this up just yet with so much of the book still left to do but I figured I'd sneak this peek out to you and maybe drum up some anticipation for the next DIVAS book. If you've picked up the first DIVAS book-TRINITY then you've got the 411 on The Storm, Diva X, the DIVAS and how they came to be. This book picks up a few years later and I gotta tell you the action is non-stop! Alligators, shadow monsters, ravers, ninjas, a dragon fighting a phoenix! I can barely keep up and I'm drawing the damn thing.

Another reason for posting this is to cheer up my good buddy and partner-in-crime Ian Ascher. Ian's been a writer working mainly with Digital Webbing and helping to launch some of it's more memorable characters like the Digital Widow and the Last Paladin with a thoughtful and nostalgic writing style that brings the fun back to comics. Knuckle up, bub, we've still got a ton of work to do.

That said, it's time to get back to the drawing table! HUZZAH!!!

Very nice. I love the layout and the grounds around her are awsome. Such depth in that first frame. Now correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe I have it backwards. The panel is one page. And the frames are the indavidualized images? You've done wonderful with creating the setting and mood. I love the way she moves from one frame to the next.

I do have a question though. what kind of paper is that youve used?

A panel is one frame on a page, for instance this page has six panels. The paper is BLUELINE comic art board measuring 11"x17" standard comic format with a 10"x15" working area.

I've never heard of that paper before. where would you find such paper? That is very interesting to me. *chuckles* Thanks for clearing up the correct wording on panels. ^.^

Now this is an ego boost, especially since I don't consider my art anywhere near pro level.

You made my day, THANKS!

well being your own worst critic is the best way to judge your work, but you got to be able to sit back and enjoy what you've done every now and again.

lol just seen your id, hope you pin up your good stuff where you can see it, then you dont have to worry about praise from others, you'll see what you can do for yourself, sure you'll get that big job soon enough

Man, that's some excellent work on the backgrounds and the tropical scenery and all. Gives things an animated feel, even though the actions very static. I also like the panel composition you have--the story's clear, but the layout could almost work on a pic of its own. And as usual, the way you render the ladies is distinctive and skillful. Nice work! Very well done!

Nice clean pencils and a great page layout!

What type of lead do you use for your pencils? I'm usually using H or HB on mine.

I looove the meatiness of the line an HB gives you but I tend to smudge the heck outta stuff when I use that on boards. Lately I've been using harder leads like a 2H which tend to bite into the page cause I've got a heavy hand especially after pencilling for a few hours but it cuts down on smudging. Sometimes I'll lay stuff out with the ever popular non-repro but I'm trying to just get into the habit of straight pencilling to cut down on the time it takes me to turn out pages.

Thanks!

Looking good, as usual. My only crit would be her face in the second, large window. Doesn't seem to look like her.
