Thanks Karl, I'm just trying to teach myself stuff using traditional media before I start messing with the computer. I really have to learn how to ink and color my own work so I can at least keep up with all the amazing digital talent these days.

I used to fight doing digital stuff..but once I started doing it..it became so fun that I've often thought of going full digital. Although non digital has a certain randomness to it that computers don't really allow...

That's very true. Guess it's all part of having those "happy accidents" happen that everyone talks about. Doing digital stuff has become a necessary evil in most creative industries now which has it's pros and cons. In the end the computer is just another tool or type of media and I'd love to add it to my list of working techniques.
But I'll always cherish and promote traditional media above all else. Just gimme a pencil and something to draw on and I'm all shades of happy.

No matter how awesome the computer gets you still need to be able to rock a pencil and paper..I don't think that will ever change..

Great work on one of my fave characters. I like the pose and the expression and you managed to pull off successfully making a cool pic with a character who utilises a criminal amount of that far-to0-80's colour, "hot pink."

That's the funny thing about comic book characters-Everyone wants to update the big boys...Supes, Wolvie, Spidey. Especially during the 90's "Throw them in armor and give them long hair" phase but good supporting characters that could really use and update no one touches.
Wonder why that is?

Prismacolor markers. My wife uses Copics and they're nice as well. I just like working with Prismas more but I have found you can use the Copic blender with the Prismas so I'll be messing with that some more in the future.
Now I just gotta get my hands on a tablet and a decent coloring program to teach myself something new in the digital realm.

Well if you ever take that plunge I know a lot about Photoshop's workings (PS7 anyway) and would be glad to help.
And I might just look into this marker thing myself. It'd save loads of time on coloring...

Something like this doesn't take very long...few minutes at best. I'm not really worried about doing a tight finished piece as usually this is me just messing around and trying not to jack up the coloring too much since it's something I'm trying to learn.
