Y'know what I always wondered? What would happen if Man-Spider bonded with the Venom Symbiote?Β

Talk about unrealised potential here. Β
Just think what could've been done with this. Β
And still the best Arc of that Series in any case. Β

The best done of the Animated Spider-Man Series, at least in its early seasons and some parts of the later ones. Β
Shame they only did Man-Spider for one-and-a-bit episodes, and a vulture-spider after, then pretty much tossed it away until almost the end of the Series. Β
In line with unused potential, given that they pretty much wiped away his intellect, there was little they could do with him in that state, when making him stay like that and adapt/cope with life in that more arachnid form had potential for great arcs had they so wished. Β
Still not as bad as the S4E10 Episode: The Lizard King. Β Now there was an uncharacteristic One-Shot-Then-Abandoned Concept. Β So poorly remembered that arts of the three more prominent named characters have little to no art of them. Β Gila and Monitor I can count with one hand, and Gecko's totals Zero. Β
So I suppose you might have guessed that the above concepts I do like, for the unrealised material that could have been. Β
Got any plans? Β

Would have been interesting if Man-Spider actually developed a mind of its own and they'd have done something like the Lizard King with Man-Spider. Trying to make more like himself and be some sort of Spider-King. But for that, they would have had to save Man-Spider for later down the road, and all those Super Heroes who made appearances, the X-Men, Daredevil, Iron Man, they'd team up to stop Man-Spider and get Spider-Man back. We did get the team up in the Secret Wars arc, but it would have been interesting to see Spidey become the villain for a while. Maybe see an inner struggle between Peter and the Spider. We got a bit of an evil Spider-Man with the Symbiote episodes, but that was more of an arrogant Spider-Man who didn't hold back rather than evil Spider-Man. But you're right, there was wasted potential here. I also find it surprising how in the main comic line, Spider-Man (616 Spidey at least) never turned into Man-Spider, as far as I know. He was turned into a giant Spider once and gave birth to.... himself... I... That was still a confusing story... And for a brief moment he became Spider like in instinct during The Other storyline, but I don't think we've ever seen 616 Spider-Man ever go full Man-Spider in the comics.Β
