Aurora Tessa Borealis was born to a wealthy stepdad and sick mom; her real father passed away while serving the country on the battlefield. From a young age, Aurora realized she had a natural attunement to nature, and especially to precious metals and stones beneath the ground. Once her mother passed, her stepfather immediately began experimenting on her body to see if she could actually harvest large crystals. While crystals did grow on the side of her head, they also acted as an outlet for her power, and Aurora, sick of being a test subject summoned shards of crystal from the ground that killed the lab workers, her stepfather, and released her from her confinements. Shutting down the mining monopoly her stepfather owned, she took the family fortune, her few belongings, and headed out to find a new life for herself. Aurora finally realized how cruel the world could be, and her kind and gentle nature turned into one of pride, distance, and coldness. She vowed to put away her abilities and adopt a normal lifestyle, something she hadn't been gifted with.
