Description

Tie and Nexi entered the chamber, a large window was opposite from them, giving an impressive view of the town. On each side of the window there were small trees inside large pots, and directly in front of the window was a marble desk with a carving of a lunar eclipse etched into its front. But that was not what drew the gaze of the two Pokemon, it was the jet black Garchomp tapping his claws on the desk in annoyance at his visitors. A piercing glare shot from his eyes to the two little Pokemon.

The shiny Garchomp grunted, “You two can stop staring in silence now! Just explain to me why you are here!”

Chapter 2: The Guild master

Tie just nudged Nexi with one of his ribbons and pushed her forward. She was the one who wanted to come here so badly, then it would be the Steenee who talk there way out of this.

“I… I… I would…” she stammered.

The Sylveon felt bad, he had shoved her into the spotlight and she was having a hard time talking to the Garchomp. He did not blame her; the guy was covered in scars! Obviously, a seasoned fighter, Tie would not be surprised if the Garchomp was level 100. To make matters worse, the Garchomp was wearing a mega stone around his neck, he really would be able to mega-evolve if they angered him. Tie wanted to curl up into a ball and disappear. And it seemed that under the glaring gaze of the Garchomp Nexi wanted to do the same.

“Just spit out why you came here… or I will be forced to dispose of the both of you!” the Garchomp growled.

Nexi was practically frozen, given what he already knew of her Tie though that should not be possible. He felt he had to speak up… besides… fairies were strong against dragons… right? Remembering what he heard when he was on his way into town, Tie thought he had a guess of what Nexi wanted to ask. This was an explorers’ guild, right? Then that must be her reason to talk to the Garchomp. If she had a mission for the guild, she would have probably brought it to one of the desks downstairs, but if she wanted to join, she would face the guild master, right? It made sense in his head anyway… so he mustered just enough confidence to speak.

“We would like to join the guild and form a team…” Tie caught himself… why did he say ‘we’? He should have chosen his words more carefully. That’s what Nexi wanted, Not him... right? He did not even know anymore, all Tie wanted was a way to turn human again and recover his memories. But how would he even ask that? One mention of being human to a Pokemon and Tie was sure they would think he was insane.

Nexi was now staring in surprise at Tie, and the Garchomp jumped over his desk and landed in front of them. He bent down to examine the two more carefully. “Hmm… you both do seem to have potential. So, fairy boy? What is your name?”

“I… I am Tie!” he declared, not sure what he was getting into.

The Garchomp turned toward Nexi, “And you little girl?”

Nexi’s cheeks puffed up a bit and her face contorted in rage. “Don’t you call me a little girl! My name is Steeneexi, my friends call me Nexi!”

Tie was shocked, just a second ago she was terrified by the Garchomp, and now she was yelling at him in rage. Is it that bad that something as huge as a Garchomp to call her little? Tie did not freak out to the term ‘fairy boy’, even though he resented it. But being able to scold a Garchomp to his face for saying ‘little girl’, Nexi must be way tougher underneath her cute exterior then Tie thought.

The Garchomp chuckled, “And I am Savage, master of the Eclipse guild. So, what shall the name of your team be?”

“But I d…” Nexi began to pipe up.

“Team Fractured Moon,” Tie said, cutting her off before she said something that could get them both killed. He did not know why, but the name seemed to come to him from nowhere.

The Garchomp grinned and jumped back behind his desk. Pulling out a bag and some scarfs and handing them to the pair. “I like it! Welcome to the guild! Here is your pack, and some scarves!”

He held out a blue one, and a pink one. Tie put the blue one on happily. Nexi scowled, “I do not want the pink one! I would much prefer the blue one! Tie, you’re a fairy, can you please let me where the blue one? You can have the pink, it matches your fur better…”

Savage and Tie stared at her in surprise. “But…” Tie began, “Blue is my favorite color… besides… I don’t like pink that much.”

“That’s tough!” Nexi glared, “Especially since you are a Sylveon!”

Savage laughed. “Looks like you are much tougher then I though little girl! I am so sorry, I thought most girls liked pink!”

“Stop calling me ‘little girl’! I resent that!”

“Fine!” the Garchomp conceded. “So, Steenee, would you rather a purple one?”

She thought for a moment, “Do you have black?”

The Garchomp put away the pink scarf behind the desk with a nod and pulled out a black one. It had a faded metallic emblem on it that looked allot like the one etched into the desk. The scarf was tattered and had definitely seen better days.

“Now we are talking!” Nexi said taking the scarf and wrapping it around her neck. “This is definitely more my style!”

Savage chuckled. “Good! It better be, that was mine when I was younger. Back in my explorer days I took that scarf on every adventure with me. You better take care of it. Now off you two go, show the scarves to miss Midnight, she will then give you the papers to sign and you will be an official team.”

The two Pokemon nodded and made their leave of the office. Tie sighed a breath of relief once they made it outside. “I could have sworn he was going to eat us!”

Nexi nodded, remaining silent.

“Oh… whow d… did the visit g… g... gwhoe young ones?” Miss Midnight asked looking at them from her desk. She smiled, well Tie thought it was a smile, when she saw their scarves. “O, ohwho! Seems you will be joining out guild. Starting a T… twheam together are we? I remember the whold days when Savage and I were a t… twheam! H… whoear are your papers!” She laid out some paper work with her talons and the two signed everything. Tie swore it was quite hard to write with his ribbons, he was certain his writing looked terrible! But that did not matter, he was now an explorer.

Maybe I can find my brother… he thought to himself, or maybe while I am an explorer, I can find a way to turn human again.

The two had exited the guild hall, Nexi stayed quiet until they made it outside.

“Thanks allot!” she complained.

“What? What did I do?” Tie asked in confusion.

“Now I am stuck as an explorer,” she said, casting a little glare at him.

“Hey, I thought that was what you wanted! And when you froze up, I had thought I better say something before he ate us!” Tie defended himself.

“I had something else I wanted to ask though… I just did not know how to say it…” she said sadly.

Tie looked at her in confusion, what else could she have wanted to ask? “I… I am sorry, what was it you wanted to ask anyway?”

She huffed and looked away from him, “Nothing that concerns you! It is none of your business!”

“Oh… ok. But if you did not want to be an explorer why didn’t you refuse?” the Sylveon asked.

She glanced his way again, “He already gave us the free scarves… beside… I did not want to make you look stupid.”

Tie just smiled at her. “Well Steeneexi, I am sure we will become good friends as explorers. How bad could it be? It could be lots of fun, just think about all the adventures we could have!” To be honest, Tie was trying to convince himself to go through with this explorer thing more then he was trying to convince Nexi.

She nodded and smiled at him! “I guess you are right… and… sorry again for bumping into you earlier.”

Tie smiled back, “Its no problem! Otherwise how would I have been able to meet you?”

The Steenee giggled and practically bounced, “Well then! I guess we have to find a place to turn into our team base right?” she said, rather quickly.

Tie laughed, that’s the Steenee he met on the fifth-floor! “True! Without one of those we would not be a real team, would we? Also, I bet as explorers you might be able to find the answer to whatever you meant to ask.”

Nexi suddenly looked very hopeful, “Really? You think I could find the secret to turn…” she suddenly cut her self off, wearing one of the largest smiles Tie had ever seen. “Oh, I hope you are right Tie!”

The two ran off, looking for a place to call their own. Not noticing the pair of prying eyes following them from the shadows.
