Okay. This is it. The end.
I can't really believe I made it this far. It may not be much to some, but to me 29 pages is a lot - I've never made a comic longer than three pages before this.
Because I'm quite fond of the idea that I'll win an award for something one day, I'll give a thank you speech now.
First, the hugest thank you to every reader and commenter. The hugest. Your feedpack seriously kept me going - without any I'd probably stopped after page five! I can't thank you enough!
Then, ~EntirelyInsane . Without her, well, there'd be no comic. First of all, she helped me to come up with the idea. And even after the idea had been born I planned doing a serious Les Mis fancomic. Sherlock made it clear The Hero was a better idea. Thanks so much for talking sense to me!
Everyone I borrowed jokes from deserves a thank you, of course. ~TheAxel , ~Ananaskeksi and The Simpsons come to mind, but I know there's more. Tell me if I'm neglecting you!
Also worth mentioning, I think, is that Nostalgia Critic episodes (I especially like the Titanic cartoon one) were my soundtrack almost all the time I coloured these pages. When someone talks and keeps me entertained I concentrate a lot better than while listening to music. Other colouring entertainment includes MusicalTalk .
I'm going to do another Les Mis comic, snappily titled "Spin the Bottle ", but first I'll have a little break to avoid going insane.
Les Mis is not mine.
Now, I'm off to make mini-albums! Let me know if you're interested in owning one! And read some Victor Hugo, everyone!

Maybe in this universe, seeing no one died after all, the National Guard boys (they actually have names btw, though that's not mentioned in the comic – the one with blonde hair is Gabriel and the brunette is Henry

YES! That was the first thing I read, actually. XD I love Enjolras' France Pants (and Grantaire's nosebleed, that was awful in the best way).XD All it did was make me want EVEN MOOOORE, though!
...Ok I mostly just love watching hyperserious Enjolras having to put up with all the dorks under his command. XD

I just started on it, and share duties with someone else, as is appropriate for a two-person ask blog, I guess. My E/R are...uh...curlier- haired? It's probably not too hard to track the ones I drew (I drew all the recent ones of people asking Enjolras about his girlfriend Patria. We get a lot of those!). Feel free to leave a question, but I guess ask for Cara if you want me in particular to draw it?:/
I've also got my own blog, which I mention here ONLY BECAUSE there is an actual historical Enjolras song written for the death of President Lincoln there, and I must share this news with EVERYONE. [link]

Sounds sweet! But are there any movie spoilers in your blog? I bookmarked it so I can take a look after I've seen the film – I've grown very cautious about Les Mis blogs now that it's less than a week to go before I'll see the movie on big screen... I'll take a look at your blog afterwards, and maybe even send in a question if I can come up with anything!
And when it comes to your own blog, and the historical Enjolras song... I've encountered that song sometimes in the past, but it never fails to amuse. :'D The Song Of The Patriot. Man. Enjolras would appreciate.

Actually the Ask blog has no spoilers I can think of-- if you've read the Brick and/or seen the stage musical, I mean, and you clearly have. It's mostly just goofing on Enjolras being a super serious Francesexual and Grantaire being, well, Grantaire, and their constant semi-canon (ok, pretty much actual canon, Hugo was pretty explicit) tension.
I am following you now! I look forward to watching you freak all the way out after the movie. It's been two weeks for me and I'm still going askdgfhjkl.XD

I love the way that this is a happy ending for JVJ and Javert somehow. XDDDD
execpt Javert is still unhappy. oh well, happy Javert must be more awkward then the normal one. I like the way he is. ^^

This is so epic. And to think I just read yout other comic first and thought the red rays thingie was just some cool thing to illustrate Enjolras loves to be serious XDDDDDDDDDD... Now I can get the full of it. Is this the comic you printed for the Les Mis cast? Tell me what they thought about it!

Yep, this was the comic. What did they think? Heh, it's a bit of a long story...
First, I sent a flower and one of the comics to the ÅST Enjolras, Rune Sæter (do you send flowers to actors around where you live? Here, you can send them to any actor you like, and then the actor will bow with them during the curtain call - but I haven't seen that happen in London, for example). I got a message from Rune the next day, he said the cast loved the comic! What's more, he invited me to meet the cast - and when I met them, many of them told me they liked it. I was told the guy who played JVJ, Alexander Lycke, loved the comic especially and lauged while reading it. Eek! That gave me the idea to print one for everybody.
So, I drew a new cover ([link] - it's kind of creepy though) and dragged 30 little magazines with me to the theatre the next time. I gave them to Rune to give to everybody. He took a look at one of them and went "Alex will love this!" (Rune never told me what he himself thinks of the comic, though... But whatever.)
So I suppose I can say The Hero is Jean Valjean approved!

Heh, no... here we don't give flowers that way. I guess it's the same as London. But they give flowers to the main female role during the curtain call at the premiere night. It's just a nice thing. I ignore if they do the same at the closing night... I never attended one here. But that tradition of yours is so cute! It'd be nice to see your favourite actors coming out with the flowers you sent to them!... but I think it'd be sad too if you're part of the cast and you got none n__nU you have to see the rest of partners blowing their flowers and you 'D:...'

Aww, too bad you don't do the flower thing - what would you do if you wanted to confess your passionate love to some actor, just stay silent, or tweet them, or what..?
I think the actors are used to not getting gifts, too. I've seen shows with small casts, three people and only two of them getting gifts for example. The third one sometimes joked with the audience about it: looked at us all upset and waved their hands like "hey! Where are mine?" - but it's all in good humor.
That's what I thought, exactly - I was about to explode when I saw Rune's message in my inbox. It's not common here, either, so I was very surprised. And that was not all! He gave me a free ticket to Les Mis and an interview, too: [link] !! I'm still unsure if he's even real, that all is just too nice!
Haha, if there's someone from the ÅST cast in the new Finnish Les Mis, who knows... maybe I should send Spin the Bottle to them!

I just read through Hero of the Republic. Fantastic job. I would never have the patience to do a continuous project like this for more than about two pages. And is anything Valjean does not cool? Even his tea set is badass.

Haha loved this!!! Especially Javert's face at the end XD I had a look like that once at a family reunion when I had to sit at a table with my cousins... And I really do applaud you I tried to do a comic once and it's harder that it looks! So great job! Plus I will say this again... yay for the Nostalgia Critic!! (I have seen that episode it's one of my favorites! check out the 'other' animated titanic one to! it's even funnier XD)
