Last year in October, I had two different dreams whereas I found myself in a place that looks an awful lot like Wonderland. I knew I wanted to somehow adapt those dreams into artwork. I was going to feature my Dragonsona for the role of Alice, but I went with Bubbles from The PowerPuff Girls instead. Drawing her in Alice's dress and headband feels a lot more fitting for her. Plus, that became the catalyst to adapt more characters for Wonderland, with the Mayor of Townsville being given a page or two from Johnny Depp's look in the 2010 adaptation, and the Cheshire Cat looking... strangely familiar... I think the twins from Pokey Oaks Kindergarten would be the Tweedles, and Princess Morbucks would definitely be the Queen of Hearts. As the image overall came together, it went toward the lighter side of Lewis Caroll's iconic dreamworld of nonsense. I will admit, I started reading Alice's Adventure in Wonderland just a few days ago, and I found myself surprised by how much of an easy read it is and how faithful the animated Disney adaptation is in terms of how the plot of the book plays out. If you're curious about that key Bubbles is holding, in my dream, a mouse gave it to me, emphasizing its importance. Since I couldn't figure out what it unlocks, maybe she'll find out.

I hope this feels recognizable as Wonderland as well as Townsville, and that you guys like it. I can only imagine what would be going through Bubbles' head as she's trying to make sense of this place...
