Mrs. Maudeline Mudstone Pie is the Crystal Empire's newest schoolteacher... well, really, the only schoolteacher in the history of the empire, but still, new! With her doctorate in geology (there is no such thing as a 'rocktorate', no matter how many times Pinkie calls it that.) She moved to the Crystal Empire with her husband, Sourpuss, and had her foal, Sentimental Sedimentary there. She came to the Empire because she wanted to study the crystal formations and magic of the place. So far, she's enjoyed her stay. Of course, defining the word enjoyed with Maud is a relative term, but she is happy. She was offered the chance to be in charge of the very first Crystal Schoolhouse, as the Empire was sealed up long before standardized education or schools ever existed. She agreed, and now has the job of teaching all of the foals in the empire, with her assistants/co-teachers, Sandy Salutations and Aperture Amethyst. They take over occasionally, when the whole 'one teacher for the entire empire' thing becomes too much to handle.
