Little light reached this lonely corner of the Milky way, casting the icy moon, and its inhabitants, in only a dim light whenever they got a peek of the sun burning far away within the centre of the galaxy. It was time for a routinely check of the hatchlings within the Nemesis' brooding chamber. Slowly, metallic feet traded over the slick floor, avoiding overgrown tendrils which resembled gnarly roots at this point, and the egg sacks of those unfortunate enough to have ended up growing close to the floor.

As always, it was Starscream's duty to keep check of the developing hatchlings. The seeker had taken well care of the brood, and already welcomed several ones into the world, all under the Fallen one's guidance and demand. As long as they had enough Energon, all would go according to plan, and a new Decepticon army would be born.

He observed every egg sack, mentally noting down if there was any notable lack of glow emitting from them, which would indicate an Energon deficiency. He checked every crevice, just in case one had hatched without him noticing and gone hiding somewhere. And he checked the almost organic-looking constructions from which the eggs hung from. Today, all was the usual; calm, and quiet. Well, almost.

All around him there was the echo of a thousand beating sparks, but among them there was one sound that caught his attention before he had the chance to leave; a squeak. A tiny, muffled, squeak.

"Hmm?" The seeker lifted his gaze towards the direction of the sound. A wave of anticipation washed over him as he began walking over to one of the many egg sacks hanging from the ceiling. This one was much smaller than the rest, but the little squeaks kept coming from the hatchling within, like a baby calling for its mother.

"Ah, yes," he purred as he slowly circled the sack, his optics glued to it.

"Come out little one," he cooed to the sparkling, lifting a talon-like hand to grasp the egg, hard enough to be able to bend it for a better look, but soft enough to not pierce the membrane. After tilting the sack he could see the hatchling, so small, but moving with vigour. Another squeak came from the tiny Transformer, and Starscream slowly let go, letting the sack slump back into its original position.

He did not intervene the hatching process, the little one had to break free on their own, so he watched, and waited. Minutes passed, the hatchling kept squeaking and moving about. Finally, the little one began pushing against the elastic membrane, their sharp features cutting through the layers. A tear opened, spilling out Energon onto the floor, and the guarding seeker reached out a hand underneath the egg sack. Such a small hatchling needed a softer fall once it emerged, especially when hanging so far off the floor.

As the little one trashed about, they opened up the tear more and more, until the sack naturally split open, allowing the hatchling to slide out, and fall safely into Starscream's hand. More Energon spilled out, drenching his talon. The hatchling may have been small, but it was fully developed, healthy, and their metal body coated in a faint rosy hue.

"There you are," Starscream cooed before raising the hatchling closer to his face. "Welcome to the Decepticons, little one."

The hatchling stretched their limbs and let out a tiny peep, their optics partly open and letting a faint, yellow, glow shine through. After observing the freshly hatched robot for a moment, the seeker turned around, and began making his way towards the exit of the chamber, still holding the hatchling with surprising care with his talon; like a crib made out of metal.

"Now, let's go and introduce you to your brothers..."
