YAYYYY I'M FINALLY ON MY SUMMER VACATION!!!... which will last less than 2 weeks. OTL But I can't wait to visit my parents and family, finally. <3
I was reading the latest chapters of One Piece, and I loved Sabo's squat position in this panel [link] I wanted to draw it out in my sketchbook for ink practice, but then he looked lonely... Ace and Luffy was shortly added. XD Don't mind Ace's missing arm which was supposed to be holding his stick lol... I really shouldn't skip the sketching process when inking stuff.

Holy crud, that is beautiful. Not in a fruity way, but seriously...this is beautiful. You have no idea how freakin' versatile you truly are; you had me fooled into thinking this was just a scanned manga page that you just so happened to personally find amusing and upload it to dA for everyone's enjoyment. Needless to say, it goes without saying that you've got a strong upper-hand when it comes down to really working in a sense of strong authenticity into your drawings. Top notch detailing really rounds out the entire composition, with a subtle yet satisfying hint of your own stylistic trimmings to truly ace it. Not bad at all, to be quite honest.

I loved this week's new OP chapter though. I really admire/praise how Oda keeps everything together, even in flashbacks...!

I almost idolize Oda now for the manga world. lol~
One thing he does so well that i still have trouble following is the huge cast.
He comes up with characters like *bling* with his style. I don't. lol~ Silly and weirdness and just keep putting things that don't work together is a really good formula to keep things interesting, and he's the best man at it, and somehow he can remember all of them... he might have a dictionary by now. Even his fans needs a wiki just to follow his stories.
Luffy's crying scene reminds me of "Conan the future boy" when he lost his grandpa... that was probably the most powerful scene. I want to explore other ways to express that though.
Oda learns only from the best, and he's so good at using all his lessons.

Yeah, Oda is easily one of the top mangaka's out there by now. I haven't seen as powerful character depths and storytelling consinstensy as One Piece has demonstrated. He truly knows how to keep controlling his ever-expanding snowball of epic, One Piece. XD
Man, I totally agree with you for the new characters popping up. He must have some sort of way to archive all of his characters, probably at the same time that he designs them? His designs and disfiguritiveness (I truly love how he designs facial features, now. haha) it really fits into the specific character. I keep wondering if he plays with clay to help himself keep a good shape dynamic and consistency in his srawings of the characters. It's hard to pull it off, regardless. O_O
Ahh, Luffy's crying scene... I had a tingling feeling that Oda has definitely done some well-grounded research on that part, like how there are several steps leading to grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance). I really love how he draws crying men. The majority might say that it looks ugly and that he doesn't know how to draw people crying, but crying is hardly ever pretty. XD He has definitely suceeded in making me tear up, haha!
Oda's definitely one of my biggest inspirations out there.
