Description I've decided to do a monthly series of watercolors based on the Catholic devotion each month is dedicated to. I didn't plan to at first, but last month I painted Mary, and then I felt inspired to paint this picture and then realized it went with this month's devotion. So I figured, why not continue doing this every month? I think doing these paintings will help me meditate on these devotions, and having a planned series will help me stay productive.

So beautiful. I love the iconography of the heart across all of the different religions, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of my many favorites. The lighting in this is so perfect, keep it up! I'm amazed by your control of watercolors~

Thank you. And no one has ever told me I have good control over watercolors before. Thanks! Funny thing is it's become my favorite media because I like how chaotic it can be. I start painting by dripping and pouring and take a lot of creative direction from what the paint and water wants to do. I love that experience.

Well I know I've been increasingly impressed by your ability to control the watercolor in your recent illustrations. I can do a little with it in layers, but I have to use liquid acrylics more often than actual watercolors because I get so OCD about not being able to "control the chaos" like you said.

an outstanding job well done!  I really love how the soft warm glows that strikes out & beacons a comforting call to the viewer, inclining towards the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus & yes, the eyes too!   May God bless your work!

This is beautiful it's like he's coming out of a fairy-tale forest! The lighting contrast between warm and cool really helps get the feeling across, too, of taking refuge in the light of God. Love it!
