starykocur — Morning sunrays I

If you saw my "Morning sun" shottaken some nine months ago, you will easily recognize the same trees. The building on the Red Prądnik development in Kraków is obscured by the haze and leaves still present on the branches. It was a very chilly but sunny morning, therefore some hoarfrost can be seen on the plants not warmed by the sun yet.
I have returned to the same theme with a better camera and greater experience in photo-editing. The shot has been taken with the Sony A550 DSLR, and HDR has been created with Dynamic Photo HDR software.

Oczywiście, że to zdjęcie, a ściślej HDR złożony z trzech zdjęć (patrz komentarz). A co się tyczy miejsca - Kraków, Czerwony Prądnik. Widok na te drzewa mam na codzień, przeto i zdjęć robionych w różnych warunkach doczekały się one sporej ilości. Najlepsze można zobaczyć w mojej galerii (starykocur.deviantart.com/gall… ). Niestety są to drzewa bardzo stare i z roku na rok coraz bardziej obumierają, czego dowodem jest to zdjęcie: starykocur.deviantart.com/art/…

In fact, I am not an enthusiast of HDR. Most of the pictures made with this technique and presented on dA look very unnatural. You need much discipline not to be tempted by "nice-looking" effects that can be easily created with HDR software. Nevertheless, sometimes it is the only way to show how the real scene looked like.

I am guilty of what you just mentioned lol. I have so many artsy illustrated HDR images. I've recently began trying to tone it back to try and achieve the super real photo look with HDR.
You did a wonderful job of using the process to create that real look!

There are two methods of using photography: one - to present the reality, and another - to create it. I belong to the first group, and you seem to belong to the second. There is nothing wrong in using HDR to show people the world in the way you see it. Only be consequent in your attempts
And insofar as the real look is concerned, this is only an attempt to approach it as closely as possible. No photograph can present the real world in the way the human eye perceives it
