"So, Lain, where are we going?" The ginger demon atop his head hummed. She had rested her head on her hands, and thoroughly mussed his hair in the process. He laughed lightly and looked up at her.

"Not sure. My reflexes want to take you to Seyruun, but I recognize that would be a bad idea right now. Where is best?"

"Anywhere~ As long as I'm with you pretty boy~" She tittered, and he laughed slightly and shrugged. She'd run herself ragged on orders to protect him, and he had insisted on carrying her. She could probably move about on her own now-- none of her was missing and her body was only projected after all-- but he had made it clear until she was completely whole she wasn't allowed to move from his shoulders.

So she hadn't. And she seemed about as content as a cat with cream.

"Y'know, I'm supposed to be guarding you, not the other way around." She commented offhandedly, and Lain shrugged again.

"What kind of gentleman would I be if I didn't look after you when you were injured?"

"I don't need a human to baby me." This time she sounded affronted. He chuckled.

"I never said you did." He replied with patience, "I just said it wouldn't be very gentlemanly of me to not tend to you while wounded."

"Stupid human. You'll get yourself killed."

"I was not the one who got themselves nearly torn in two." He reminded firmly, "Are you feeling any better, by the way?"

"Once I've worked around your damnable benevolence, yes." She huffed, deflated.

"Good. Now, where do you want to go?"

I drew this for *Apple-Cake 's birthday! It's Mazoku!Lina and Human!Xellos. (Whose name is Lain. Hehe)

I had a lot of fun working on this, and even more fun working with the characters with swapped races! It effectively destroys Lina's morals (most of them anyway) and well... Xellos is a priest... which means sage-like patience and the ability to like people without creeping them out. He's actually quite sweet.

Also yes. Black hair and blue eyes.
